How’s your recall?

Most people think recall is about obedience.

It’s not.

Relationship equals recall.

If your dog chooses to come back to you, even when distractions are everywhere, it’s because you’ve built trust, consistency, and value into your relationship.

A reliable recall isn’t created by yelling louder or repeating commands. It’s built through clear communication, fair expectations, and making yourself the best choice in your dog’s world.

The stronger the relationship, the stronger the recall.

So instead of asking, “Why won’t my dog come?” ask yourself, “What am I doing to make my dog want to come?”

Train the relationship, and the recall will follow.

Success comes full circle! 🐾

Last year, Jensen the Sheepadoodle joined us for training, and now the family is back with their newest addition, Bishop the Labrador, who’s wrapping up his training camp!

One of today’s sessions was all about something many people overlook—learning to simply relax together. Both dogs worked on their place beds, calmly settling side by side in the house. No chaos, no wrestling, no constant stimulation… just being comfortable and relaxed in each other’s presence.

This is a huge life skill that creates a more peaceful home and helps dogs make better decisions even when they’re excited.

We’re proud to say both Jensen and Bishop are doing fantastic! It’s always rewarding when families trust us with another member of the pack. Thank you for letting us be part of their journey!

Loulou the Doodle had a great training day today! 🐾

We headed over to Scottsdale Fashion Square to work on real-world obedience in a busy public environment. Loulou practiced staying focused around crowds, new sights, and plenty of distractions while continuing to build her confidence and manners.

One of today’s highlights was checking out the Lucid vehicles on display. Loulou worked on her obedience skills inside and around the cars, practicing calm behavior, sits, downs, and maintaining focus in a completely new environment.

Public access training like this helps dogs learn that the same rules apply everywhere—not just at home. Loulou continues to make great progress and is becoming a well-mannered companion both at home and out in the community.

Murphy and Jade wrapped up another great private lesson today!

One of our main focuses has been building a reliable e-collar recall, and the hard work is paying off. Jade recently took Murphy to San Diego, where he was able to enjoy some off-leash freedom on the beach while maintaining excellent recalls, even with all the distractions that come with a busy beach environment.

Nothing beats the peace of mind that comes from knowing your dog will come back when called. Reliable recall creates more freedom, more adventures, and a stronger relationship between dog and owner.

Great job, Jade and Murphy! Keep up the excellent work!

🐾 Moxie has been crushing it! 🐾

Moxie, a 9-month-old Labrador Retriever, is wrapping up her 4-week camp, and she has done an amazing job every step of the way.

From swimming and park adventures to navigating busy public environments, Moxie has learned how to stay engaged, focused, and responsive around all kinds of real-world distractions. Her recalls have come a long way, her confidence has grown, and she’s proving that she can make great decisions wherever she goes.

One of the biggest goals of our program is helping dogs understand that obedience isn’t just for the backyard—it’s something they can take with them everywhere. Moxie has embraced that challenge and continues to impress us every day.

We’re incredibly proud of her progress and excited for her family to see everything she’s accomplished.

🐾 Training doesn’t stop just because we’re out to eat. Tonight Layla and Bruce joined us at The Backyard and absolutely crushed it inside the restaurant. Calm, focused, and learning how to relax around real-world distractions while still being part of the fun. 🍔🐕

Public outings like this are a huge part of building a well-rounded dog — confidence, obedience, and good manners everywhere you go. Layla and Bruce are doing awesome! 👏

A solid recall is one of the most important things you can teach your dog — not just for obedience, but for safety and real-world freedom. The e-collar isn’t about punishment; it’s about clear communication at a distance and helping the dog fully understand the command every single time.

Moxie the Lab is learning that confidence in the water starts with doing it the right way 🐾💦

Today was all about safe swimming, learning how to properly use the steps, and building confidence getting in and out of the pool. Garro stepped in to show her the ropes like a true mentor dog 🖤

These little sessions build huge confidence and help create calm, safe habits around the water. Always training. Always learning.
