This week is a reminder that so many blue-collar men and women go to work every day doing difficult and dangerous jobs to keep our communities running. In mills, on job sites, in the woods, on the roads, and in plants across this country — there are so many risks that many people never see.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the tragedy at Nippon Dynawave, along with their families, friends, and coworkers. Life is fragile, and moments like this remind us never to take a single day, a single coworker, or a single “see you after work” for granted.

Hold your people a little closer tonight.
