Wild West litter is 4 weeks old! 🤠 They got their first feet shave today and their second face/sanitary trim today. They are growing up so fast into such sweet babies 🥰 In just one month they will start heading to their new homes!

I love being a breeder but it is hard and more time consuming than most could imagine. On nights like tonight where a puppy gets a bit extra dirty and needs a bath and blow dry at 10:30 pm then falls asleep in your lap. It’s such a wholesome but exhausting experience. Most of the job is 24 hours a day from the moment they are born. I have been raising my litter by myself and working part time when I can. Every day is endless cleaning, laundry, and care of puppies as well as caring for my adults, working, and taking care of my own health. I start first thing when I wake up caring for pups and it’s the last thing I do when going to bed.

When breeding for a litter I plan to have my life on temporary hold to prioritize the little ones while they are here. This is just a reminder as I might be slow to respond to messages or future puppy applications for some time. Illumination poodles is a small program run by one person, I appreciate your patience when reaching out 💜

5 years ago Illumination Poodles first litter was born from Lumen and Gus! These 8 pups have accomplished more then I could ever imagined already from working service dogs, UKC grand champions, and titled across many performance sports including agility, rally, obedience, dock diving, FastCat, barn hunt, scent work, weight pull, coursing, and more. They set the bar high for my program and I’m so proud of every pup and their owners who believed in me as their breeder.

Lumen has received her PRA rcd-4 clear test results! Despite her retirement from breeding, I opted to retest for this version of PRA, which has become increasingly prevalent in poodles and was not known to me when she was bred. Although she was bred to a clear stud, updated testing confirms all her offspring and grandchildren from Illumination poodles are clear of PRA rcd-4 by parentage.
