It’s been 4 months since we closed our doors. Life has gone on with our doodle bugs here (Teffie, Niki & Ahsoka on the deck today) and Bleu and Vari have transitioned well in their sweet homes, but I truly miss bringing new souls into the world. There are hours in a day that I often spend looking back at all the photographs of all the little babies we loved and nurtured. It’s hard. One thing that brings me such sweet joy are our families who still keep in touch and send us photos. What would I do without you!!! 💕 All of our babies have amazing lives! Some have Instagram pages, some have babies of their own, some bring joy to a child in need, some are farm help, some are in therapy, some keep their older moms company now that their husbands have passed on … each life is different but every single one of them are cherished. 🩷 Here are just a couple pics we’ve seen recently of past sweet babies, they give us such joy!!!

I sat for a long time looking at this sweet photo of Vari in her new cheerful home. Her extremely patient and loving new mom sent it to me. For several moments it reminded me of everything I am losing with this blockage, but thankfully it also Illuminated everything that Vari is gaining. 🩷 A mama that she doesn’t have to share, a treat that she doesn’t have to share, and all of her mama’s new love that’s really all for her. Seeing Vari happy doesn’t make our loss smaller, but it makes it easier because it’s outweighed by Vari’s good fortune and happiness. I know she is happy with her new mom and that makes me happy. 🩷 Through this illness, I see God so much in the details. He is blessing me and our Yorkies abundantly. I see you Vari! I’m so joyful you’re happy.

For those curious about our decision to "sell" our logo and kennel name: "Mommy & Me Yorkies" will continue to have our legal trademark indefinitely and we will not be selling the rights. Our name has incredible personal and meaningful sentiment to our family, we founded years ago, when my daughter was extremely young, as a team. We founded our hobby together, through love, with hard work and with extreme love for the mother/daughter connection between me & my daughter and our dams and their babies. It's more than a name to us, it's a memory packed with love. So like other precious family memories, it will remain with us.

It is with incredible sadness that we must announce that we're closing our doors effective immediately. I was having troublesome memory, vision, and balance issues, and was admitted to the hospital, where it was determined I have a brain blockage in the P3 segment of my brain. Due to the aggressive symptoms of a P3 segment blockage, we can no longer continue our beloved hobby. I know this will come as a shock and a huge disappointment to the families waiting, and I'm incredibly sorry that I cannot personally contact each of you, because you deserve that, but it's extremely challenging for me to type, read, and process information at the moment. Our family is incredibly saddened beyond what we can express here. The hardest part of closing our doors is that we will need to open our hearts and accept that some of our Yorkies will need to find loving pet homes because my brain blockage is making it very difficult to provide them with everything they deserve. We will ONLY be seeking loving pet homes for some of our adults. Due to the sorrowful nature of even finding them homes, we will not place them all at once, but gradually. Bleu, Vari & Ahsoka will be placed first. We will be posting more in the coming days when we are medically able, in the meantime, we are huddling as a family and caring for each other. I know this will be a sad announcement for many waiting and my thoughts are only on you at this moment. I will provide referrals to any family that's wanting a referral, but please give me time, it's very hard reading and writing messages. More info to come.

Yesterday was Bleu’s birthday, along with his adorable siblings. 💕 We have the sweetest adoptive families in the world and his siblings’ families shared their memories and wished Bleu a happy bday. This is Tilly’s (formerly Berria) celebration. Nothing is more perfect to me than seeing our beloved babies making memories with the ppl they love and are loved by. It was a great day yesterday.

My friend asked me yesterday which of my Yorkies are my favorites. I had to answer her truthfully. I said, “I don’t have favorites.”
And I truly don’t. They all have their unique personalities, special quirks and sweetness that I could never choose. Like Teffie. I don’t think I’ve ever shared that when I take her with me anywhere she refuses to sit in a car seat, she just wants to sit in my lap and stare at me the entire time. 🤣 I don’t know why. Every Yorkie parent can tell you exactly what special quirk their little sweetheart has that makes them unforgettable. 🩷
