Today we’d like to talk about the importance of nail grinding, featuring Harper 🐶! Regular nail trims on a 2-4 week schedule are very important to the comfort and structure of your dog’s paws! Did you know as they get longer the nails can actually change the way your dog bears weight when walking 🥺? If your pup has long nails, have no fear Ella’s here 😊! Here at Home Pack Pups all grooming services include nail trims with grinding ✂️ (as long as your pup tolerates it!) We also offer stand-alone nail trim with grinding services as well! Clipping alone can make a huge difference, but as you can see from the pictures, grinding can make the nails a lot shorter and rounder! On the left you can see Harper’s nails were just clipped, and look at those sharp edges 😖! On the right, Harper’s nails have been grinded and appear shorter and feel “less scratchy”. Grinding is especially important if your pup jumps or has long “quicks” in their nails! The grinding exposes the quick more and allows it to recede over time with regular nail trims and keeps them smooth! Ella takes great care to get the nails as round and short as possible without cutting the quick (as cutting the quick can make them bleed). If your pup is in need of a pedicure, or has anxiety around nail trims and needs some extra support, don’t hesitate to reach out 😊! 💻Email [email protected] or book on Gingr to reserve your appointment spots with Ella! 🛁✂️🦴
