Happy International Cat Day!!😺❤️🎉

“International Cat Day is a celebration which takes place on August 8th of every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. It is a day to raise awareness for cats and learn about ways to help and protect them.”

We obviously LOVE cats here at the lounge and want to do our part to help and protect them.

Never use your hands as playthings for kittens! 👍

When you play with your kitten, always use an appropriate toy. Never use your fingers to tease or wrestle. It will make a difference in how your kitty learns to play as an adult.

Those solo toys that are piled up in a basket or heaped in the corner are really just dead prey. One way to spark your cat's play drive at times when you aren't available for interactive playtime is to strategically place solo toys around the house. These little treasure hunts can encourage your cat to do some impromptu play. And if your cat reacts to catnip, rub a little on a toy a couple of times a week for added fun.

Always put a towel or blanket over your cat carrier! 💕

A quick and easy thing to do that could decrease your cat's stress during travel.

For many cats, the placement of the water bowl is important. If it's too close, food particles can fall in and change the taste of the water as well as cause contamination. If you have the food and water in the same room, don't have the bowls touching each other and don't use a double dish that has food on one side and water on the other. It's also a good idea to have water bowls positioned in other rooms as well, to encourage your cat to drink more.
