It's June, which means our next adoption fair is right around the corner on Saturday June 20. Bonded pair Bowtie, black, 2 years old and Buttons, fawn, 5 years old, were victims of a divorce and ended up with us. Soon after, they were naturals in our Fashion Show, but now that the bright lights have gone, they have almost been forgotten. They are a delightful and beautiful pair but have not had many inquiries and have already been with us 6 weeks 😔. As with most pairs, their personalities compliment each other; Bowtie is the social butterfly, playful and outgoing while Buttons would rather just stay with his brother instead of the hustle and bustle of the facility. Bowtie would love a party but Buttons prefers smaller, more mellow interactions. The previous owners reported that both boys do well with cats and children so they would be great family dogs. Buttons was born with a malformed leg which doesn't slow him down in the least and definitely adds charm; a perfect imperfection ♥️. Bonded pairs are great they keep each other company and it is so fun to watch them interact. Interested in knowing more? Look at this chunk!!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️. Yeti was out on the street and no one ever came for him. It is truly shocking because this cuddly boy is the best. He is estimated at about 3 years old and has such positive energy; he gets along with other dogs and absolutely eats up any attention that comes his way. If you are looking for a classic, roly-poly pug, Yeti is definitely your boy. Apply through our website pugnationla.org.

Ida, now ' Ripley', was found on the side of a highway; luckily she was brought to safety. She had a few minor issues and needed a spay, so we took care of that and she was ready to go. Stefani and Nick were looking to adopt a young rescue pug but live in NY. They caught wind that we were transporting some of our pugs east, so they applied, got approved and we were able to put Ripley on the Pumba's Paw Transportation bus and get her to her new family.😊 Ripley has settled in quickly and has done great with her new brother; they are the best of friends and have fun playing together. Ripley enjoys emptying out her toy basket after it was filled and loves walks, even when it is raining. She also found a good nosey neighbor spot to look out the window and bark at people passing by 🤣. Ripley's summer plans include many family trips and who knows, maybe one day another CA sibling 😉. We are so happy it worked out so well and we were able to get a pug off the streets in CA and find such a great home for her in NY.

Atom, now "Kimi" was surrendered to us as the previous owner could no longer care for him. He had some previous eye damage but we took care of that, along with his neuter, and he was good to go. We knew the little cutie wouldn't be here for long, and sure enough, Hannah and John quickly snatched him up. All is going well so far as the couple is thrilled with Kimi's sweetness and energy. They start each morning with a 2 mile walk and then he loves to snuggle in for one of his many power naps. But as soon as he wakes up, he’s up and running again! Kimi’s number one goal was to become best friends with the cat; mission accomplished--in a few days they were running around together. Kimi picked out his favorite toy (a little pink ball) that he carries around everywhere with him. In the short amount of time he's been in his new home, he has helped fill the hole in his parent's hearts as they had lost their previous pug Winston, just 2 before. ♥ We are so glad Hannah, John and Kim all found each other.

Aster, a 3 year old female pug mix, sure has come such a long way already from her sad existence on death row after being surrendered to a shelter (see last picture). She figured out pretty quickly that she lucked out and has been partying with us ever since 🤣. She's a big, active girl and at 33 lbs she will be a perfect compromise for a family who is split between adopting a bigger, athletic type dog and a cuddly pug. Aster will give the best of both worlds as she loves action; she will run, jump and play forever but also enjoys cuddling up to other dogs and humans alike. Aster is such a joy and will surely light up any home to which she is adopted. Read more on our beautiful by clicking the link: https://www.pugnationla.org/adoptable-pugs/aster/

At 15 years old, Mykey was surrendered to us and it's easy to see his eyes are an issue. We are working hard on making him comfortable and hope to get those eyes healthy very soon. Mykey, along with us, has some info for you and a request; please take a moment to read. If you knew a minute or two of your time would make a difference for dogs like Mykey, would you help? Percy was injured and broken after being attacked on the streets and impounded. He had serious neck wounds and a badly damaged eye, but with months of care he slowly started to heal. A huge thanks to Percy's fosters, David and Kris, who really helped with Percy's confidence and were instrumental in his placement in a forever home. Heather has reported that Percy, now named Royce, is doing great, making friends with other dogs in the community and is by his Mom's side 24/7. Royce is very bonded with his new Mom and they both are extremely happy ♥️

Veggie, estimated at 6, survived a horrible attack and then was impounded at a local shelter. When we rescued her we expected a shut down, maybe scared and angry dog but what we got was quite the opposite. Veggie has quickly moved on from her trauma and has proven to be an outgoing, well behaved, friend to her fellow pugs and people alike. Veggie loves her walks and other simple things in life and looks forward to a person or family that will enjoy her calm demeanor and love, spoil and care for her ♥️. Read more and apply for Veggie through this link https://www.pugnationla.org/adoptable-pugs/veggie/ 🥕🥦🥬🌶️
