Carson Animal Care Center

Carson Animal Care Center Founded in 1961, Carson Animal Care Center is a high intake Animal Shelter located in Los Angeles. There is a small parking lot as well as street parking.

Please note all adopters must come in to the shelter, we do not do adoptions over the telephone! This is the official page of the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control- Carson Animal Care Center. the Carson ACC provides animal control and rescue services 24 hours a day / 7 days a week in our service area. We offer a wide variety of potential animals for adoption. Most of our

animals are strays or pets that have been surrendered by their prior owners for various reasons. The many benefits of adopting a pet from Carson Animal Care Center include: low-cost spay and neuter, free veterinary health check, low-cost vaccinations, and a microchip ID. In addition to patrolling streets, back roads, beaches, canyons and mountains for lost, injured and abandoned animals, our office also sells dog licenses, conducts humane investigations, protects the community from dangerous animals, permits and inspects animal-related businesses, provides emergency rescue services during natural disasters, and enforces all state and local animal control laws.

Starting August 1 Clear the Shelters 2025 begins! A nationwide pet adoption event that happens at shelters all over the country.

August is also DOGUST where shelters dogs birthdays are celebrated on August 1st.

To start Clear the Shelters and celebrate our doggies. On Saturday August 2nd Carson will be hosting an adoption party to celebrate our animals and kick off Clear the Shelters!

8/2/25, 11am - 4pm invites you to Paw-tay with us and find your new birthday bestie to take home.

Adoption fees will be waived and adopters will receive a goody bag of items for their pet.

Weā€™re celebrating the spirit of companionship and courage with our Tails of Valor adoption event! From May 23ā€“31, adoption fees for all cats and dogs are waivedā€”because every pet deserves a loving home.

With Memorial Day approaching, we also want to remind our community:

Adoption fees are always waived for active-duty military members and veteransā€”not just this week, but all year round.
