Before I ever bred a mare, I got to watch the plans come together for this little filly. 🤍

This is Penny, by Blue Light District and out of WillWorkForSweetFeed. Her story began with Ashley VanMeter of ONE05 Equine & Stock and Sarah Robertson. I’ve had the honor of following along from the beginning and watching her grow alongside Ashley since day one. She’s truly as sweet as they come!

What first caught my interest happened long before Penny was born. I watched and listened through the details of the cross. From bone and conformation to temperament, so much consideration went into how the sire and dam could complement each other. Seeing those plans come to life in Penny made me want to learn everything possible.

Ashley is a huge reason I started my own breeding journey. She welcomed me into hers, shared her knowledge and helped me believe I could take that first step too.

I started with one leased mare. Now I have a mare of my own and two mares bred to Blue Light District and due this spring! Behind that excitement are countless hours of research, questions and conversations. The more I learn, the more I appreciate the thought and care behind every breeding decision.

Penny will always remind me of where that spark started. I’m so thankful to Ashley for letting me learn alongside her and helping me find the confidence to begin.

There’s still so much to learn and work toward, but it’s pretty special to see something I once only imagined becoming real. 🤍
