WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!
On Monday our team visited Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter in West Monroe, a high volume shelter that is overwhelmed with the overpopulation crisis of our area. Shelters like Ouachita battle daily to save lives, but are surrounded by a veterinary desert, no access to low cost care and a lack of community awareness/education. Limited opportunities cost pets their lives, attributing to a 49% live release rate! Their odds of making it out are as good as a coin toss. 💔

These shelters NEED our support and we simply cannot do it without your help. We took in 51 dogs and cats from OPAS, putting a huge strain on our capacity. Fostering is absolutely crucial for lifesaving, alleviating kennel space so that we can continue to save more. Many of these pets desperately need medical support and emotional decompression. By getting them into homes, we can keep them healthy and happy! 😽🐶

We provide all necessary supplies, cover vet care and adoption placement, and you show them what it means to feel safe and cared for. PLEASE help and sign up to foster at acadianaanimalaid.org/foster. Temporary Home, Permanent Impact! 💞

Dog and Cat Adoptions are happening at PETSMART this Saturday, Oct 24th, 10am-1pm! Be sure to meet us at the Lafayette store off of Johnston St. for some purrs and tail wags. 🎉 We will also have adoptable dogs available down the road at Giles Subaru of Lafayette, bringing awareness to the many, wonderful pets that are in shelters, waiting to become a part of your family!

Because all adoptions have a reduced fee of $50 for the month of October! 🐶💞😸 We hope to see you in the community this weekend and if you can't adopt, remember there are tons of ways that you can support our homeless pet population. Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. Advocate. They're more than a statistic. Learn more at acadianaanimalaid.org/adopt.

and this Saturday we are partnering with Giles Subaru of Lafayette to help bring people and pets together! We'll be there from 10am-1pm. Thanks to their support ALL adoption fees are reduced to $50 for the rest of the month! 🎉

Come meet some of our adoptable canines and fill out an adoption form ahead of time to be pre-approved: acadianaanimalaid.org/adopt. When adopting, don't forget to consider the Underdogs! Ask our team about the pets who have been overlooked and what ways you can support them. Choosing to adopt means choosing to save a life. 💕
