The Shelter Pet Studio

The Shelter Pet Studio The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping pets find forever homes through photography & other media. Sharing is caring 💞🐾

Partnering with other organizations, primarily Stark County Dog Warden in Canton OH, we work to end pet homelessness. The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping pets find their forever homes through professional photography, videography, and social media. Our team of passionate volunteers creates beautiful, genuine portraits that showcase each pet’s unique personality—off

ering a view far different from the scared or anxious faces they wear in a kennel. Since our founding, we’ve helped hundreds of pets put their best paw forward, connecting them with loving families. Our mission goes beyond just photography; we partner with other nonprofits to promote their adoptable pets and amplify their efforts. We believe that only by working together can we truly tackle pet homelessness in our community. Thank you for helping us continue this important work! Do you know a dog or cat that needs some "extra oomph" to find a home? We will work with any shelter or rescue in and around the Akron-Cleveland Area. Email us at [email protected]

Blaze is just a puppy - but we don’t hold it against him. 😆 He is learning and growing everyday and ready for worldly adventures. 🌎 With his stunning blue eyes and amazing demeanor, you are sure to fall in love as soon as you meet him. He has puppy energy and will just flourish with training and love. Blaze seems to be interested in other dogs which will help him use some of that energy!

Blaze is a great buddy for walks, he’d probably love hiking and camping! He’s been waiting a month and a half for someone to pick him and we can’t believe it. He is such a good boy and has incredible potential, we just don’t get it! He was probably a Christmas puppy that got too big or they didn’t want to train. 😔 Don’t let this good boy wait for much longer!! He wants to do all the fun summer things with a family of his own. ❤️

If you are interested in Blaze, bring all family members to meet him. Dogs on leash, cat in a hard carrier.

Every dog comes with donated, free training sessions with local trainers: Cosmic K9 (2 sessions) and Hoperidge RTA (1 session). Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of 3s: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel at home..

The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers, independent from the shelters we assist. SPS writes bios based on our experience with a pet and are not making guarantees. We are not involved in adoption processes. To inquire, contact Stark County Sheriff’s Office - Dog Warden Division at 1801 Mahoning Road NE, Canton, OH 44705 or call (330) 451-2343. HOURS: Monday-Saturday 10:00-4:00.

JJ is ready for adventure!! ⛵️🛶⛱️🏕️🎾🌎

JJ suffers from black dog syndrome 😩 That’s when a dog is so wonderful, the only logical explanation of them not being adopted is that they aren’t “pretty”. When we met him back in January, we thought oh man, this boy is going to be adopted so quick! How wrong we were 😭 He is now the 2nd longest resident at The Dogs at the Stark County Dog Warden waiting since November 24th of last year. 💔 that’s 191 days with no home or family to love. Please SHARE so we can find him a home ASAP - he deserves to be loved ❤️

🎶Let me tell you ‘bout my best friend🎶 That would be JJ’s theme song - because everyone is his best friend! He is such a happy guy despite his horrific past. When he arrived, he was emaciated, full of scabs in various forms of healing, and missing fur. His spirit was sad and broken. As he started to heal, he showed the true resilience of dogs - never angry at humans. Honestly, is the happiest when he is with volunteers and playing. He is said to be housebroken and seems to like other dogs.

JJ is ready to move out of the shelter and into a loving home. As always, please bring all family members to meet him (cats in a hard carrier) to make sure he’s the perfect fit. 🧩

Hunter needed his own post - just check out this guy’s tongue! He is a happy dude so ready for adventure!! 🐶 He comes out hot right from the kennel but after some mental stimulation and exercise, he settles in and shows his sweetness. Hunter is very housebroken, meaning he holds himself for long hours until he gets outside. 🚽

Hunter seems to enjoy the company of other canines which would definitely help with his energy. 🏃 He doesn’t enjoy long hours in the kennel - he has things to do and see! He is treat motivated which will help with his training and focus. He is looking for an active family and he has the cutest face 🥰

If you are interested in Hunter, bring all family members to meet him. Dogs on leash, cat in a hard carrier.
