The Shelter Pet Studio The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping pets find forever homes through photography & other media. Sharing is caring 💞🐾

Partnering with other organizations, primarily Stark County Dog Warden in Canton OH, we work to end pet homelessness. The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping pets find their forever homes through professional photography, videography, and social media. Our team of passionate volunteers creates beautiful, genuine portraits that showcase each pet’s unique personality—off

ering a view far different from the scared or anxious faces they wear in a kennel. Since our founding, we’ve helped hundreds of pets put their best paw forward, connecting them with loving families. Our mission goes beyond just photography; we partner with other nonprofits to promote their adoptable pets and amplify their efforts. We believe that only by working together can we truly tackle pet homelessness in our community. Thank you for helping us continue this important work! Do you know a dog or cat that needs some "extra oomph" to find a home? We will work with any shelter or rescue in and around the Akron-Cleveland Area. Email us at [email protected]

Meet Louise! 👋 This gorgeous girl is afraid at the shelter but slowly learning from the amazing volunteers that it doesn’t have to be scary. ❤️‍🩹 She can be skittish with sudden movements and loud noises but she is gaining confidence every day. She is super sweet and loves taking walks which she does so nicely. She seems to calm down and do better the further away from the barking and stress of the kennel. She seems to like other calm dogs so perhaps a confident canine in her new home could help her come out of her shell. 🐚

If you have a calm/quiet home and can help her gain confidence, Louise will be the best companion. As always, bring the whole family (dogs too, cats in a hard sided carrier) for a meet and greet and see if she belongs in your home! 🏡🐾

Rain said she wants to be the only rain in your day! ☔️ With her golden eyes and sweet puppy antics, she is sure to put a smile on your face!

At 7 months old, Rain is starting to learn the basics - she already knows “sit” and is walking so nice on a leash! She is such a smart cookie 🍪 we know she will pick up on everything else quickly. She still needs to be reminded not to jump in her excitement but she’s just so happy to get out of her kennel! She seems to have a healthy interest in other pups 🐶 and having a canine friend would be beneficial for energy and learning the ropes!

If you are interested in Rain (the puppy kind), bring the whole family (dogs too, cats in a hard sided carrier) for a meet and greet and see if she belongs in your family! 🏡🐾

The Dogs at the Stark County Dog Warden dogs of all different sizes, colors, personalities and ages! Please come adopt your best friend!!

These are the 4 longest residents. They all arrived in MARCH or APRIL and are hoping they don’t have much longer. ❤️‍🩹

Longest resident is boxer mix Vash, who has now been waiting 177 days (5 1/2 months!) for a family! 🥺 he is a typical happy-go-lucky guy with energy to play. He loves his time out walking, running and playing ball. He came in with dog potential but his time in a kennel is making him feel a little crazy and is starting to become reactive. He will need a meet with any resident dogs. (He had a recent meet with potential adopters dog and did well!) After he gets his energy out, he loves to show his affection and convince you he’s a lap dog 😆 Vash is about a year old and about 50 pounds.

Murph is now the 2nd longest, having waited 143 days since he came to the shelter in April. This guy is such a photogenic dog and loves to ham it up for the camera. He seems to like other dogs which would help burn any excess energy. He is wicked smart and likes to use his brain (and nose!) for treats - he will even play “pick a hand”! He also loves toys - he picked one to show off during his under the sea photo shoot. He really needs a hero soon, he doesn’t do well with the long kennel hours. He is 2 years old and about 48 pounds.

Sliding into 3rd longest is sweet gal Carnation who has been waiting 140 days. This girl is almost perfect - she seems housebroken, walks so nicely on leash, and gives gentle kisses. She loves ladies and just needs some time to warm up to men. Bring her some yummy treats to win her over and you’ll have her eating out of your hand. Volunteers rave about her gentle personality and amazing walking skills. She is 4 years old and about 47 pounds.

How Hunter has now become 4th longest resident, we cannot figure out. Arriving April 17, this 4 year old boy has now been waiting 139 days to get adopted. 🥺 He is such a nice boy with enough energy to take adventures but once that energy is out, he loves to lounge! With consistent time out of his kennel, we know this boy will absolutely shine. ✨ His favorite thing is squeaky balls and time with volunteers. He is housebroken and has potential with other pups - the whole package! Scoop this happy guy up - he doesn’t want to wait any longer!

Come meet these pups and see for yourself what a perfect companion they can be. Bring the whole family (dogs on leash, cats in a hard-sided carrier) for a meet and greet! 🏡💛

HOW IS GRANNY STILL WAITING TO BE ADOPTED?!?!?! She has now been waiting 87 days to be picked!! Seniors shouldn’t spend their golden years in a hard kennel!

Granny knows she can’t hula like she used to but it doesn’t keep her from trying! Her hips may be a little stiffer and legs not as strong but Dangit, this Granny has s***k! Just look at that smile!!

Granny is a 10 year old lady looking for a soft place to land. She has been a baby maker for a long time and now it’s time for her to be pampered 🥰 She enjoys leisurely walks (she can be strong right out of the kennel but settles in) and is a soft blanket connoisseur. She needs some extra TLC to get her to her best and keep her healthy. She keeps her kennel clean which shows she has potential for being housebroken. She is about 72 pounds.

If you are interested in Granny, please bring all family members in - dogs on leash, to make sure everyone is happy ❤️ Granny cannot live with cats or small dogs.

Patrick is looking for his SpongeBob!

💙 Patrick went from timid and unsure to total lap dog! 🐾

At around 2 years old and 44 lbs, Patrick is one of the sweetest boys you’ll meet. He was so timid when he first arrived that it took him a little time to realize he was safe and learn to trust. 🥺

Now that he’s opened up, Patrick wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He’ll happily climb into your lap for snuggles and soak up all the affection you’re willing to give. 🥰 He loves people and seems happiest when someone is right there reminding him that he’s safe and loved.

Patrick has such a gentle, loving soul and deserves a family who will continue building his confidence and give him all the cuddles he’s been missing. ❤️

Bring the whole family (dogs too, cats in a hard sided carrier) for a meet and greet and see if Patrick belongs in your lap and your home! 🏡🐾

On , Tamara is all smiles! This potato-shaped gal is ready to break out of the shelter and find someone who will appreciate her hugs and kisses all day. 💋 So sweet, she loves to be with the volunteers, just hanging out 💅🏼 or taking walks where she can sniff to her hearts content. ❤️ She shows potential to be friends with canines and we think she’d be good in almost any home. This angel 👼 wants a family that will dote on her all the time. She is about 2 years old and 50 pounds.

If you are interested in Tamara, please bring all family members to meet her. Dogs should be on leash, cats in a hard carrier.

Sweetest girl Sloan is just as beautiful inside as she is out. This girl can be on the shy side at first but when she realizes you are kind, she warms up quickly. ❤️ She needs someone who is going to show her the world isn’t so scary. Volunteers rave about her sweetness and she’s always happy to see her friends. She walks well on leash, knows basic commands and commands seems to have potential with other dogs. 🐕 To us, she seems like the total package! 📦 She is approximately 2 years old and 50 pounds.

If you are interested in Sloan, please bring all family members to meet her. Dogs should be on leash, cats in a hard carrier.
