🌟🐾 June Dog of the Month: Meet Lugh! 🐾🌟

Lugh is a 1-year-old terrier mix who has come such a long way since arriving at the shelter. When he first came to us, he was extremely shy and shut down. He wouldn’t walk on a leash, needed to be carried, and was very unsure of people.

With patience, love, and the help of our amazing volunteers, Lugh has truly blossomed. He now loves going on long walks, playing in the yard, and showing off his playful personality. While he can still be a little shy when meeting new people, once he feels comfortable he turns into a fun, energetic pup who loves his toys and gets the best zoomies! 💙

Watching dogs like Lugh gain confidence and learn to trust again is one of the most rewarding parts of rescue. We are so proud of how far he has come. 🐶

Buddy is a 1-year-old retriever mix with so much love to give. This playful boy loves running around the yard, playing fetch, and soaking up all the attention he can get. He would make an amazing family dog and would love a home where he can play with the kids and be part of all the fun. It's Feline Fact Friday!! 🐾😺
We all know that cats sleep a lot- typically 12 to 16 hours a day, but do you know WHY?🤔

😺"They're built for bursts — Cats are predators that hunt in short, intense sprints. Sleep is how they conserve energy between those bursts.
😺The term "cat nap" is literally based on their behavior — they spend a lot of time in light sleep, staying alert to sounds and movement, rather than in deep sleep. Only about 25% of their sleep is the deep kind. 💤
😺Digestion and weather also effect how much a cat sleeps. So if your cat seems like it's unconscious for most of the day, that's completely normal — they're not lazy, just very efficiently designed." 😀
