Today I lost the best dog I will ever have. He was surrounded by his children and friends when he passed. I’m filled with hurt and loss. Thank you to all who were there to see him cross to the other side. Rest in peace Alfie. There will never be another equal. I love you

Tis the time of year to build strength and endurance for the season ahead. A Gundog out of condition will be useless in thirty minutes during a warm October day. It’s unrealistic to expect maximum performance from our dogs without proper conditioning and endurance. During the summer we build heat tolerance and slowly ramp up distance and exertion. By the time shooting season is here we want lean muscle, and the ability to push forward without putting the dog out of their comfort zone. I believe in extra calories during the summer months that will turn to muscle over the weeks and months to come. Keep them well hydrated and supplemented and you’ll have a fit and capable hunting and shooting companion by the time the season opens .

I’ve lost two of my favorite animals this year and I’m going through a divorce. It’s been a difficult six months. Sincere apologies if I’ve been late texting or if I’ve not responded to texts or emails at all. To those who know what’s been going on and have been there for me I appreciate it more than you will ever know. It’s been an incredibly difficult time but we are still carrying on. Saltaire Gundogs was built out of quality and attention to detail and these are still enduring qualities of what we do. Thank you to all of our clients, friends, and followers. We have sincere gratitude to you all. ❤️

Saltaire Gentleman Bob and Saltaire Sprite. Two siblings from our first ever litter. Both exemplify the look and temperament of the Saltaire Gundogs stamp. Both have a lovely style and way about them. I wish I owned them both but happy to have them at the kennel at times throughout their lives!
