Thanks to the Vermont state legislature which continued enough funds, though less than previous years, to keep our SNAP crop cash, crop cash plus, and Farm to Family coupons going at the farmer's markets! Nearly 20% of our summer sales go to those using these benefits. If you take what we sell such as fruits, veggies, berries, eggs, poultry, jams, preserves, fermented products, foraged items, etc. that are SNAP eligible, account for nearly 30% of the summer sales. It a win-win situation for farmers and customers.

Green Acres Homestead will be at this Sunday's Winooski Service Carnival, 10-2pm, which include many local non-profits joining our regular vendors. And even Champ is coming by! A great day to visit the market and enjoy the fine music!

57 of the 69 expected Vermont Summer Farmers Markets, are members of the Vermont Farmers Market Association. Joining as a member for a local market means both great resources from our state, other agricultural/crafter organizations, and the local communities. The Homestead will be at the Saturday Shelburne, then Saturday Montgomery, Sunday Winooski, Monday Smugglers Notch Resort 9-12noon, June 15, not a member, Wednesday-Jeffersonville, Thursday-Jericho, summer markets. There are markets every day here in Vermont!

A muggy warm day in the mtns but foraged enough fiddleheads for Thursdays Jericho Farmers Market. We collected plenty of duck/chicken eggs. Opened up another 5 gallon bucket of raw honey to fill more jars. Cutting more comb off the stored frames to also fill more jars. Along with all our other items, it looks to be an amazing day! Come by between 3-6:30pm.

Green Acres Homestead uses a sustainable permaculture model, offering classes, tours, and items from our city home in Burlington, Vermont. Our homestead will provide two seasons of classes in kimchee, kombucha and water kefir making weekends in March/April & September/October with gift certificates....

We will be at this Thursday's Jericho Farmer's Market opening with everything from duck, chicken, eggs, honey, beet kvass, fiddleheads, nut-free pesto, oils, salves, tinctures, etc. Come on by to enjoy the vendors, music, and meet and reconnect here in Jericho. Yep 3-6:30pm!

We hope to bring some pickled fiddleheads later this season, meanwhile foraging higher up in the mtns, still finding some. Hope to bring some to next Sunday's Winooski Farmers Market, 10-2pm.
