We will be closed July 4th in observance Independence Day.

Now a word from Tiny:

The Fourth of July isn’t the best day ever for companion animals. Fireworks are loud, scary, and confusing for us animals.

❤️Keep us safe and secure!
Make sure your pets are indoors or in a secured area when the fireworks begin. Even us brave farm dogs can bolt when we become scared!

🤍Microchip, Microchip, Microchip!
If we do get spooked and run, a microchip registered to our owner can be the reason we make it home! The number of lost pets skyrockets this time of year. Please don’t wait until it is too late!

💙Talk to our doctors about anxiety medication!
Some of us need a little extra help; a dose of anxiety medication can make all the difference on firework night. (Thunderstorms too!)

We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our wonderful technicians have been accepted into veterinary school!

Adrianne Nichols and Riley Jenkins will be heading to the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine and Christopher Storer will be attending North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

We are going to miss having them around here but we can’t wait to watch them thrive in the veterinary field. Please join us in congratulating them! ✨🐾🩺

K9 Officer Carla from Brownfield Police Department stopped by for her annual check up and vaccinations. We are happy to report that she is in tip-top shape! 🐾🚓

Thank you to her handler and the whole BPD for letting us take care of this hard working girl!

We were happy to host students from Ropes ISD!During their visit, Dr. Thomas informed them about the importance of vaccinating their animals, as well as the benefits of spaying and neutering.

The future of animal welfare lies in the hands of students just like these. TCVH is proud to be apart of such a great educational experience!

Greetings everyone! It’s Tiny Dog Tuesday! Did you know that April is National Heartworm Awareness Month?

Heartworms are preventable parasites transmitted by mosquitoes that live in the pulmonary arteries of dogs. They can grow up to a foot long. Dogs that have been affected by heartworms long term can develop congestive heart failure.

While heartworms sound scary they are preventable! Here at TCVH we recommend Sentinel Spectrum, which is a once monthly oral preventative. The American Heartworm Association recommends testing for heartworms annually and that pups like me stay on prevention year round!
