🐾💗 THREE DOODS FAQ — PART 2 💗🐾

The UNFILTERED edition. Because apparently we have more things to discuss. 🤣✂️

🐶 WILL YOU TELL ME IF MY DOG IS A BUTTHEAD?
ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY. 😂
Ask any of my clients! Listen, I LOVE your babies, but if your dog is acting like a complete as***le, I'm going to tell you. LOVINGLY, of course. 💗🤣

In my opinion simply put.... the psychological and behavioral side of working with animals is a LOT like dealing with toddlers.
They have emotions. They have fears. They have boundaries. They throw tantrums. They test limits. And sometimes they're just having a BAD DAY!
So please don't act completely SHOCKED when your baby's report comes home a little less than PAWFECT. Especially when little Fluffy is running the entire household at home too. 👀😂

Let's remember yall, I'm already asking your dog to cooperate with things they may not necessarily WANT to do and they are determined... like those tiny terrorists aka toddlers to do what they want...
Which brings me to my next point…

💨 WHAT IF MY DOG HATES THE FORCE DRYER?

THEN I'M NOT FORCING IT!
Its gon air dry! We will comb it and slow dry it but we are not making chaos over the face. OK. Period. We just not! Am I gonna fuss and fight yes but make them miserable and risk injury? Nope! And most of you know they hate when you do it... thats xs 10 with me okay...
YES, we all want Fluffy to leave looking like a perfectly fluffed little Pinterest model. 💅🐩
But you know what I want MORE?

A dog that feels SAFE, TRUSTS ME, and doesn't leave thinking the grooming salon is its greatest enemy.
Sometimes that means compromising on the picture...or perfect finish.

And guess what? THAT'S OKAY!
What matters MOST to me?

🐾 Clean, comfortable eyes and sanitary areas.

🐾 Paw pads free of excess hair so they can maintain proper traction.

🐾 Nails properly maintained for healthy feet and movement.

🐾 Skin and coat health.

🐾 A dog that isn't completely traumatized by the process.

HEALTH AND COMFORT WILL ALWAYS COME BEFORE VANITY!
If your ONLY concern is a fancy haircut and you don't care about the health and comfort underneath it…
I'm probably not your groomer.
And that's OKAY! The sea is full of fish, baby! 🐟😘

✂️ WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DOG IS MATTED?

I'M CUTTING IT.
I'm not spending hours yanking, pulling, and painfully picking apart a coat because it wasn't properly maintained between appointments.
I'm not destroying healthy coat structure or putting unnecessary stress on a dog to save a few inches of hair.
Matting can be painful. Removing it can be painful. And excessive dematting can damage the coat and skin on top of the hematoma thats likely existing now also...
And I'm just NOT doing that to your baby for the sake of appearance.

HOWEVER…
Here's the part I wish more people understood!
IF YOU LISTEN TO ME, FOLLOW MY RECOMMENDATIONS, AND MAINTAIN A REGULAR SCHEDULE, WE CAN WORK TOWARD GROWING AND MAINTAINING ALMOST ANY REALISTIC COAT LENGTH YOU WANT! 🙌

It takes consistency, proper products, the right tools, and teamwork.
I can work MAGIC, but I cannot undo weeks of you not brushing DOWN TO THE SKIN and with the COMB ALSO🤣

💰 WHY DO YOU CHARGE EXTRA FEES?
OHHHH, THIS ONE. 😮‍💨😂
Because grooming is NOT just playing with puppies and giving cute haircuts all day!
Those extra charges account for additional TIME, LABOR, WEAR AND TEAR ON MY EQUIPMENT, MY BODY, AND MY SPECIALIZED SKILL SET i PAY TO KEEP CURRENT AND UPHOLD
Grooming is physically demanding, mentally demanding, and requires a tremendous amount of knowledge that people often don't realize.
The strength and personality has to remain dominate all day...
We work with moving animals, sharp equipment, different temperaments, skin conditions, coat types, behavioral challenges, and a whole lot of variables.
Let me say it again MOVING OBJECTS WITH SHARP ASS TOOLS....
And somehow grooming is STILL treated like it's at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to professional services.
Y'all will drop money on eyelashes, injections, nails, and all kinds of beauty appointments WITHOUT BLINKING. 💅💉
But let a groomer charge extra for safely removing a severely matted coat or spending additional time handling a difficult dog…
SUDDENLY WE NEED A CONGRESSIONAL HEARING. 🤣😭

Your dog depends on YOU to make decisions about their health and comfort.
Grooming isn't just a luxury. It's an essential part of responsible pet care.
Dogs are man's best friend.
LET'S START INVESTING IN THEIR CARE LIKE THEY ARE! 💗
Ok leme off my soap box....

🫧 HOW DO YOU GET THE DOGS SMELLING SO GOOD?!
BABYYYYY… IT'S THE PROCESS! 🧴✨
YES, I use top-notch products.
YES, I stay educated on the latest brands, ingredients, techniques, and advancements in our industry.
But here's something that may surprise you…
I've even had to STOP using products I absolutely LOVED because of changes in my WATER!
YEP. WATER. Think abt the city's water and water if you travel... it changes in your hair right?! Well theirs too!
Changes in my city's water quality and mineral content can affect how products perform, rinse, and feel on different coats and I learned through LOTS OF TESTING and trials and buying and WASTING 🫣😵😮‍💨
Some products became too heavy. Some didn't perform the way they previously had.
So I ADAPTED!
Because that's what being educated in your craft means.
It's not about grabbing the most expensive bottle on the shelf and dumping it on every dog.

It's about understanding the COAT.

Assessing the skin.

Recognizing what that individual dog NEEDS.

Choosing the correct products, tools, techniques, dilution, contact time, rinsing, and drying methods.

And then actually TAKING THE TIME to do it properly!

A product is only as good as the knowledge behind the person using it.

THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUST WASHING A DOG AND UNDERSTANDING THE SCIENCE BEHIND GROOMING ONE. 👏

💗 THE MORAL OF PART TWO?

I'm not everybody's groomer.

I don't WANT to be everybody's groomer.

I want clients who value education, honesty, consistency, and the health of their animals.

I'm going to tell you when your dog is being a butthead.

I'm going to tell you when their coat needs more attention.

I'm going to tell you when something isn't safe or comfortable.

And I'm going to continue educating myself so I can provide more than just a pretty haircut.

AND I WILL ALWAYS BE HONEST WITH YOU

And if your dog leaves with a slightly crooked face bc they almost bit me or because they decided the dryer was sent straight from Satan…

The questions I get asked ALL the time… so let's clear a few things up! 🤪✂️

🐶 DO YOU KENNEL THE DOGS?

NOPE! ... Well… not unless necessary!

I operate as kennel-free as safely possible! Kennels ARE available, but they are NOT forced. If a situation arises where I feel a pup would be safer, more comfortable, or needs a little break from the chaos, then absolutely, I'll use one.

Otherwise, we're hanging out, getting pampered, and living our best lives! 💅🐩

⏰ WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

I'm usually at the shop by 7:30 AM, and morning drop-offs are accepted until 8:30 AM.

NOT 8:31. 😂🤣 and they are released on completion... that dont mean go play all day and ill keep ya baby... I will but thats called DAYCARE and a difft charge 😊

Y'all, I LOVE your babies, but I run a TIGHT schedule for a reason! I'm a business owner AND a mama, and I've structured my day so I can still pick my boys up from school and shuffle sports and schedules

I work hard to balance both worlds, so please respect my drop-off times! 💗

ABSOLUTELY!

I believe in an OPEN-DOOR, OPEN-WINDOW POLICY!

You can see into my grooming space at ALL times!

I have absolutely nothing to hide. Transparency is extremely important to me, and I want my clients to feel comfortable knowing how their babies are being handled and cared for.

I also have cameras available over the entire shop as well as my home if your dog is boarded...

Your trust means EVERYTHING to me. 🫶

🌿 WHAT ARE YOUR CERTIFICATIONS, AND WHAT IS THE NATUROPATHY STUFF ABOUT?

I'm currently certified in hair, coat, and skin care, and I'm also a Naturopathic Practitioner specializing in animal wellness as a whole! 🌿🐾 i am a certified pet health coach as well...
I studied Naturopathy for abt 13 years and was in the medical field prior to my career change to this
Now, before anybody thinks I'm over here trying to become Dr. Doolittle… 😂
I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL!
And I will NEVER pretend that I do!
My entire reason for pursuing education is i love learning and teaching and helping and yall i wanted those letters w my name because I kept seeing the SAME problems walking through my doors.
Ye**ty ears. Chronic skin issues. Coat problems. Uncomfortable, itchy babies. 😩
And I wanted to understand MORE. So i asked and traveled and took classes and know how to truly help but its such a fine line crossing or saying what I knew to be true that they have/had without credentials so to speak
And w grooming yall we are front and the first line of defense for a pup bc we see the skin better than anyone... esp during dry times i have found many things...So yes I line dry and check the ENTIRE coat and body and want to tell the pet parent exactly what j see... why bc what they were doing wasnt working and I had tools that would
But they didnt buy into me they didnt believe bc I didnt have any letters 😒🙄 welp NOW I DO
i did and do not just wash them, groom them, and send them home
I wanted to and had now learn WHY these issues happen, how skin and coat health work, and what I could do to HELP support these babies.

My goal is to ASSIST veterinary care, NEVER REPLACE IT!
Veterinarians diagnose and treat medical conditions. My role is to provide knowledgeable grooming, coat care, and supportive wellness practices while encouraging appropriate veterinary care for other things
I am CONSTANTLY learning, researching, and furthering my education because these babies deserve more than a cute haircut. 💗

🏡 DO YOU BOARD? AND HOW MUCH?

YESSSS! 🐶💗

But here's the thing…

I only accept a VERY LIMITED number of boarding babies at a time!

I have two full-sized dogs of my own, and I refuse to take more than I can comfortably and safely care for.

I offer boarding at home as well because I don't leave boarding babies unattended at the shop.

When they're with me, they're FAMILY!

They hang out with us, follow our daily routines, get loved on, and basically become honorary members of the circus. 🤣

I have a half-acre fenced yard, and when I say we PLAY HARD… I MEAN IT! 🏃‍♀️🐕💨

Kenneling is NOT automatically required. However, if your pup is accustomed to sleeping in a kennel at home, or if I have an overly unsettled baby at bedtime, I may use one to help them settle safely.

Bedtime is usually when that comes into play!

And YES, I send DAILY UPDATES! 📸💌

Because I know how it feels to leave your babies, and I want you to know they're happy, safe, and loved.

Boarding rates and availability are provided when you inquire, since space is extremely limited!

💗 THE BIGGEST THING I WANT YOU TO KNOW?

Three Doods isn't an assembly line.

I don't want to rush through dogs, cram as many as possible into my day, or sacrifice their comfort just to squeeze in another appointment.

I built this business around what matters most to me:

Am I perfect? NOPE. 😂

Do I know everything? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

🎀🐾 The Next Adventures of Basil Masil & Tauntie! 🤪😂💗

Y’all… I SWEAR this girl LAUGHED at me this morning while we were having our little conversation! 😂 Imagine me... over here telling her some s**t and she just looked at me like I was the most RIDICULOUS thing a human she'd ever encountered said! 💀😂like excuse me... MA’AM?! I thought we were having a serious discussion?! 🤨🤣

This girl has SO much personality packed into that solid hard headed body! She's sassy, bold, opinionated, and EXPRESSIVE as all get out… and I absolutely ADORE every bit of her! 💗🎀

And let's not forget… Miss Basil LOVES her breakfast eggs at Tauntie's and Lauren Guidry she said i needed to let you know for when shes not here😁 dont kill the messenger! 🍳🐾 This child doesn't leave behind a shell, a membrane, NOTHING! 😂🤪 Not a crumb wasted in this establishment!
I'm convinced she comes for the breakfast, stays for the gossip girl time, and judges me and the snacks i have the entire time! 🤣
Never a dull moment with this cheesy girl! 🥹💘🐾

My CHEESY GIRLLLL is boarding with Tauntie this weekend, and let me tell y’all… this girl has a WHOLE personality and absolutely NO problem expressing herself! 😂🤭🤣

The conversations we have are something else! She talks, I talk back, she gives me the LOOK, and we both know she's gonna have the last word! 💁🏼‍♀️🐾😂

Lauren Guidry I sure do LOVE this hard-headed, sassy little girl! She's got Tauntie wrapped around her paw, and she KNOWS IT! 😍🤗💝👒
