That big fat bill of $2,634 doesn’t include the routine food and litter for the rest of our cats, gas money to transport them to appointments, or the other umpteen expenses we have faced since. Crikey is one of the cats who was found abandoned in a cardboard box. He's about 3.5 months old and has been neutered and fully vetted. He is all fun, all the time! He loves to play and is good at helping shyer cats be braver. They only thing he's not great at is being picked up. He splays his legs all over the place and acts like he's about to be launched to the moon. But nobody's perfect. He's still cuddly and sweet the rest of the time. He needs to be adopted along with another kitten unless you have a cat at home already.

You can meet Crikey and his cohort this Sunday 7/26 at our weekly adoption event. It's at 181 Irving Ave from 1 to 4 pm (aka Bushwick Bark on Irving). We'll be there along with North Brooklyn Cats and Whiskers-A-GoGo, so stop by to check out all the cats and kittens looking for homes!

It's Beanbag & Boxcar's Big Day! They will be on the prowl for a new home this weekend. They make a lovely pair or they can be adopted separately if you already have a cat at home. Meet them this Sunday 7/19 at our adoption event! It's at 181 Irving Ave from 1 to 4 pm.

On July 15, the City Council will hold a hearing on Romanch’s Law (formerly Ryder’s Law, Intro 943) — legislation that would permanently end the horse carriage industry, send the horses to loving sanctuaries, and help drivers transition to new employment.

This hearing comes at a heartbreaking moment. Last month, carriage horse Deniz died. Days later, 18-year-old Romanch Mahajan was killed after being thrown from a horse carriage in Central Park during his first trip to New York City. We cannot wait any longer.

Will you testify for Ryder, Deniz, Romanch, and every horse still forced to pull carriages through NYC?
