🆘FOSTER NEEDED - Staten Island, NY or Brooklyn as some vetting will need to be done! 🆘
You seriously can’t make this stuff up…
While we are still searching for a placement for Jim and Max, two 1-year-old brothers who are being returned to our rescue, we received another message: our handsome 🍊 boy Garnet is coming back too.
Garnet was adopted as a kitten in 2022 and has spent the last several years in what we thought would be his forever home.
The reason? He has started urinating outside of the litter box and has been showing aggression toward the resident female cat, although he gets along fine with the male cat.
One vet visit was done, some bloodwork was run, and he was placed on medication for the behavioral concerns for a couple of weeks. However, no urinary testing was performed and no ultrasound was done to rule out potential medical causes. Since the medication hasn’t produced an immediate fix, the decision has been made to return him back and make it the rescue’s problem
We don’t know yet whether Garnet’s issues are medical, behavioral, environmental, or a combination of factors. What we do know is that cats don’t suddenly start acting differently without a reason, and they deserve a thorough investigation before being labeled as “problem cats.”
The problem is that we cannot help Garnet while he remains in his current situation. To properly evaluate what is going on and give him the care he needs, we urgently need a foster home willing to take him in.
If you have a spare room, a quiet space, or experience with cats, please consider fostering Garnet. Fostering is the only way we can get him into a new environment, assess his behavior, pursue the diagnostics he may need, and figure out what is truly causing these issues.

P.S. as per his family he has no accidents since he has been separated from the female cat
