Little Paws Dachshund Rescue is an East Coast-based rescue www.littlepawsdr.org We are 501c3 100% Non-Profit and solely depend on YOUR DONATIONS!

We are a small rescue that will broaden our coverage area as our volunteer base and funds allow. There are two easy ways to donate*:

Cookie's Mama isn't just spreading Dog Adoption Awareness 👏 -- she's spreading Special Needs Dog Adoption Awareness 👏 👏 👏!
Mama L adopted Cookie almost a year ago. She had experience with 2 IVDD surgeries with her previous pup and knew she had to pay it forward for Cookie ♥️. Mama L is a teacher and at her school's "Trunk or Treat" 🎃 she decided to hand out coloring pages of Cookie from our coloring book contest 🖍️ instead of candy!!
(Zoom into photo 2 for a peek -- and there is ONE more left on our website for purchase 😉).

Thank you Mama L for shining a bright light on IVDD life. Showing that Cookie still participates in all things "dog" -- like going shopping at the hardware store, and racing at doggo events.

Our community may be small, but we are mighty 💪 thanks to amazing folks like Mama L.

A happy girl is still happily awaiting her adoption! 🤎
Currently being fostered in Virginia, 3yo Betsy would love to find herself her very own family after her mama died. Betsy is a 20-lb Doxie-Pom mix with great energy!
Betsy would do best in a home with yard space and without shared walls as she can be a barker when left alone. She absolutely loves her humans and would do excellent as a solo dog.
She can travel a reasonable distance to her forever home 🏠.

Could there be a more fitting costume for Alum Cookie 🍪 🧡
Cookie and Mama L took a trip to visit and their Halloween event 🙌. Cookie participated in the wheelie races and had a great day!

A year ago Cookie became a foster with LPDR when she went down with IVDD and her family tried conservative care but did not feel well equipped to continue her care. Mama L saw our post about Cookie and offered to foster her with the hopes of adoption. And just like that, Cookie landed in her forever home where Mama L takes her to physical therapy, sniff work classes, and fun events.

IVDD is not a death sentence and many dogs who do not regain full mobility can still live full and happy lives. Cookie, you hit the jackpot 🎰!

Foster Sky is celebrating her 9️⃣th birthday in foster care today 🎈.
It's less than ideal to have a pup celebrate a happy milestone while in foster care, but the silver lining is that Sky has a pending adoption 🤗. She's just awaiting her spay & dental and then she'll be heading home.

We hope you have a fantastic day Sky 🧁 -- we're sure Foster Mom will spoil you!

Oh heyyyy 👋 Mylo is available for adoption from Miami!
At just over a year old, Mylo is affectionate and will need a doggo buddy in the home. He is a young guy, so he'll need lots of exercise to keep his body and mind fit.
We are likely able to help transport him up to the GA/FL/SC area to meet an adopter.
