Lots and lots of work going on out here. We are already in the run up to drop offs starting soon! Time is flying fast. Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Here is the rototiller prepping the beds for topping with around 4 inches of compost. These rows should be set for a number of years. Just clear last year's crop and plant again.

Hello Friends! Sorry I have been quiet this week- FB was being weird🤷🏻‍♀️. Work here on the farm is ongoing- we are getting so close to season starting.

A big thank you to Jim and Calvin for helping me get the 2 semi loads(90 cubic yards) of compost spread on the field!!! I am using a method where you till the ground in and then put around 4 inches of compost ontop and leave it that way to plant into. It provides natural fertilizer and also w**d control as good compost should not have any live w**d seeds because it has been heated with the composting process. The last pile was steaming when it was dumped!!! You can see the rake I used to help spread the compost out after the tractor dumped it. The black woven cloth next to it is also to keep the w**ds at bay. The woven cloth costs more but it lasts for years and let's rain through and can have the drip tape on top.

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. This cooler weather is so nice for getting things done! And a bit of rain makes this farmer so very happy.

So- I am doing my ‘remember to get your share purchased before things sell out’ reminder. I am grateful that as a small farm, I do a significant amount of preplanning and I am able to maintain the price point for the CSA at what is has been the last few years. If I have to change that for next year, I will give you all plenty of notice. But this year is good to go! And we have already sold out a few of our drop off sites. Season will be here very soon. Check the website for details, and do not hesitate to touch base with any questions. This time of year, it may take a day or so to get back to you, but I will.

Hello Friends! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I am running like crazy- as is usual this time of year. I did get an email sent out - please check for details. CSA shares are selling fast. Downing pick up is sold out and Capitol Hill is almost out. If you are interested, reserve soon.
