Subtle—and not so subtle—pain signs may include:

🐾 National Pet Choking Prevention Day 🐾

Today is National Pet Choking Prevention Day, a reminder that our curious companions can sometimes get into things that put them at risk.

Here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe:
✔️ Choose appropriately sized toys and chews
✔️ Supervise pets when they are enjoying treats, bones, or chew toys
✔️ Keep small household items, children's toys, and clothing accessories out of reach
✔️ Avoid giving pets foods that can splinter, break apart, or become lodged in their throat
✔️ Learn the signs of choking, including difficulty breathing, excessive drooling, pawing at the mouth, gagging, or sudden distress

If you suspect your pet is choking, seek veterinary care immediately.

A few simple precautions can go a long way in preventing an emergency and keeping your furry family members safe and healthy. ❤️🐶🐱

Today we're celebrating the lovable, long-bodied, big-personality pups we all know and adore—Dachshunds! ❤️

To help us celebrate, we're featuring one of our superstar patients, Daisy! 🌟 Daisy is not only incredibly photogenic, but she's also receiving laser therapy and acupuncture with Dr. Rizz to help keep her feeling her best. She was the perfect model for our National Dachshund Day spotlight and, as always, proved she's the very best girl! 🥰

🐶 Dachshunds were originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers.
🐶 Their name literally means "badger dog."
🐶 Despite their small size, they are brave, intelligent, and incredibly determined.
🐶 Their unique long backs make it especially important to maintain a healthy weight and avoid excessive jumping to help protect their spine.
