🦜💚 Happy World Parrot Day! 💚🦜

Today we’re celebrating the intelligence, beauty, and personality of parrots everywhere — from tiny budgies to majestic macaws. We know these amazing birds are more than pets — they’re lifelong companions with unique emotional and medical needs.

A few ways to keep your feathered friend healthy and happy:
• Provide a balanced diet with fresh vegetables and quality pellets
• Encourage daily mental stimulation and enrichment
• Schedule regular wellness exams with an avian veterinarian
• Watch for subtle signs of illness — birds often hide symptoms until they’re very sick

Parrots can live for decades with proper care, and preventive veterinary visits play a big role in their long-term health.

Share a photo of your colorful companion in the comments — we’d love to celebrate them with you! 🦜✨

Happy Memorial Day from your family at Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital 🐾

Today, we honor and remember the heroes who served our country this Memorial Day🎆🐾 As many of our families enjoy BBQs, pool days, and time with loved ones, we wanted to share a few quick reminders to help keep your pets safe and comfortable this holiday weekend:

🐶 Skip the table scraps — foods like bones, corn cobs, onions, grapes, and desserts can be dangerous for pets
☀️ Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and shade if spending time outdoors
🎆 Loud noises and gatherings can be stressful for some pets, so create a quiet, cozy space for them indoors
🐾 Double check collars and ID tags before outdoor celebrations or guests arriving

Please note that our hospital will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day. If your pet needs urgent care, please visit our website with our list of recommended emergency veterinary hospitals.

We hope you and your furry family members have a safe, relaxing holiday! ❤️

🐢💚 Happy World Turtle Day! 💚🐢

Today we’re celebrating the incredible turtles and tortoises that share our world — from tiny pond turtles to giant sea turtles crossing entire oceans. These fascinating reptiles have been around for more than 200 million years!

🌎 Wild Turtle Facts:
• Many freshwater turtles help keep lakes and ponds clean by eating plants and insects
• Some turtle species can live 50+ years with proper care
• Turtles play an important role in healthy ecosystems by spreading seeds and balancing aquatic habitats

🌊 Sea Turtle Facts:
• Sea turtles migrate thousands of miles between feeding and nesting areas
• Female sea turtles often return to the same beach where they were born to lay eggs
• Sea turtles help maintain healthy seagrass beds and coral reef ecosystems

At World Turtle Day, we also want to remind pet owners:
✔️ Provide proper UVB lighting and balanced nutrition
✔️ Keep habitats clean and species-appropriate
✔️ Schedule regular veterinary wellness exams
✔️ Never release pet turtles into the wild

Turtles are experts at hiding illness, so routine veterinary care is essential for keeping them healthy and thriving.
