🚨 OUR KENNELS ARE FULL — WE NEED YOU! 🐾❤️

So many amazing dogs and cats are waiting for their chance at a HOME. Some have been waiting far too long, and we desperately need our community’s help.

🏡 ADOPT — Give a shelter pet the home they’ve been waiting for.
🐾 SHARE — You never know who on your friends list is looking for their new best friend.
💗 DONATE — Can’t adopt? Donations help us continue feeding, caring for, and providing medical care to the animals who need us.

Every adoption opens a kennel for another animal in need. Every donation helps us keep going. And every share could be the one that finds an animal their family.

Please help us get these babies HOME. 🐶🐱❤️

🚨 URGENT: THEY NEED SOMEONE TO SEE PAST THE CAGE . 🚨

We have a handful of cats who desperately need us to find their people NOW.

These aren’t the cats running to the front of their kennels begging to be picked up. They’re the ones hiding. Shutting down. Getting overstimulated. Sometimes swatting or saying “enough” when shelter life becomes too much.

And unfortunately, those are often the cats who get overlooked the longest.

Please don’t judge these cats by who they are inside a shelter kennel. They need someone willing to see who they could be once they finally feel safe again.

💔 LUKE & LUCY — 12 YEARS OLD

Luke and Lucy spent their entire lives together in the same home, loved and cared for by their elderly owner. Sadly, when their owner began experiencing health issues and could no longer care for them, at 12 years old these two suddenly lost the only home and life they had ever known.

They were surrendered to us together, and eventually we thought they might have found their second chance when they went into a foster-to-adopt home together.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit.

There was a dog in the home, the environment became stressful, and Luke struggled. Then, while in the foster-to-adopt home, Luke somehow got outside and was bitten by an unknown animal. Because the animal couldn’t be identified, Luke had to return to the shelter and undergo a 45-day quarantine.

Just imagine what that has been like for him.

A 12-year-old cat loses the only home he’s ever known. He enters a shelter. He finally gets to leave for what we hoped would become his new home. He struggles with the environment, ends up outside, is bitten by an unknown animal—and then finds himself back in a shelter kennel for 45 days of quarantine.

Luke has been through hell and back.

When the foster-to-adopt situation didn’t work out, there was interest in keeping Lucy while returning Luke. But after these two spent their entire 12 years of life together, we couldn’t bring ourselves to permanently separate them without giving them another chance to find the right home together.

So now they’re both back with us.

The stress of confinement has become so overwhelming that Luke and Lucy are currently housed separately because they can redirect their frustration toward one another in a kennel. That does NOT mean they cannot live together. Shelter stress can completely change a cat’s behavior—especially senior cats who spent virtually their entire lives living comfortably in a home.

Lucy especially is shutting down.

Volunteers who knew Luke and Lucy from their original home remember friendly, social, affectionate cats—absolute love bugs.

Those cats are still in there.

They’re exhausted. They’re confused. They’re scared. Their entire world has been turned upside down more than once.

At 12 years old, Luke and Lucy should not have to keep starting over.

They deserve a quiet, dog-free home with someone who understands that they may need time to decompress and learn that they’re finally safe again.

We desperately want to see Luke spend the rest of his life in a home, with his sister Lucy by his side.

Just Luke & Lucy, together, finally home. ❤️🐾

🐾 SANDY — 11 YEARS OLD

Sandy has been waiting over a year.

Before coming to us, Sandy was repeatedly left outside by his previous owner. A caring neighbor would bring him to safety after finding him outside during rainstorms, near traffic and in situations where he simply wasn’t being properly cared for.

At 11 years old, Sandy deserves better than spending the rest of his life outside.

Sandy is absolutely gorgeous, but we’ll also be completely transparent: he’s opinionated. 😂 He can be feisty. He’s not necessarily going to be the warm, fuzzy lap cat who immediately falls into a stranger’s arms.

But Sandy has select volunteers he knows and trusts who absolutely love and adore him. They’ve been able to see another side of him that someone meeting him for five minutes may never get to see.

We’re looking for a truly cat-savvy home that understands boundaries and is willing to let Sandy decompress without expecting anything from him.

Maybe he’ll never be the cuddliest cat in the world. That’s okay.

He still deserves a warm bed. A sunny window. Food in his bowl. Safety. And someone who loves him exactly as he is.

Please help us find that person.

🤎 CHANEL

Our petite little brown beauty came to us from Louisiana, and she is one of those cats who shows us just how dramatically a shelter environment can change an animal.

In her foster homes, Chanel was friendly and affectionate.

Then she came to the shelter and regressed.

Here, Chanel can be fearful, particularly with unfamiliar people or quick movements. But then one of her people walks into the room and you get a glimpse of the cat underneath all that fear.

She rubs against them. Accepts affection and handling. Cuddles. Seeks them out.

She becomes a completely different little cat.

That tells us everything we need to know.

The loving Chanel people saw in foster care didn’t disappear. She’s still in there. She simply needs to feel safe enough to come back out.

Chanel needs a patient home willing to move at her pace and let trust happen on her terms.

💚 SYLVIA — 7 YEARS OLD

Sylvia came to us after developing a strong dislike toward one particular extended family member who would visit her previous home. For whatever reason, Sylvia felt very strongly about this person and would lash out toward them.

It wasn’t an easy decision for her family, but ultimately Sylvia was surrendered.

Since then, she has become incredibly shut down.

With some people, Sylvia will cautiously allow those first head scratches and cheek rubs…and then suddenly, you hear the purring. ❤️

With others, fear takes over.

Sylvia isn’t going to walk into a new home and immediately understand that everything is okay. She needs someone patient enough to let her decompress, observe her boundaries and allow her to decide when she’s ready to trust.

And when she does?

There’s a beautiful little girl hiding underneath all that uncertainty—with the most incredible icy-green eyes and gorgeous coat.

She just needs someone willing to give her the time to show them.

🚨 THESE CATS NEED US RIGHT NOW.

They are not “bad cats.”

They are stressed cats. Scared cats. Senior cats. Overlooked cats. Cats whose entire worlds changed and who haven’t figured out how to cope with it yet.

A shelter kennel can show you how a cat handles living in a shelter kennel.

It cannot always show you who that cat will be in a home.

We’re looking for patient, experienced adopters willing to look beyond that first impression.

And because we understand that taking a chance on a cat you’ve only met inside a stressful shelter can feel intimidating:

🏡❤️ WE ARE WILLING TO DO FOSTER-TO-ADOPT FOR ANY OF THESE CATS.

Give them somewhere quiet to decompress.

Give them some time.

Let them show you who they are outside these walls.

Maybe you can’t take one home—but you might know the person who can.

Please don’t just scroll past them.

SHARE THIS POST. Share it in senior cat groups. Share it with rescue friends. Share it with the cat-savvy person in your life. Share it with someone who has a quiet home and a soft spot for the ones everyone else overlooks.

Luke. Lucy. Sandy. Chanel. Sylvia.

They’ve waited long enough.

They need someone to choose them. And they need that someone now. ❤️🐾
