Connelly Skye’s Legend of Saucy Mary CGC TKI aka “Saucy” is 1 leg away from her first rally title today. She did so well. Points off were clearly a result of her handler’s consistent inability to count turns in a figure 8 and pulling her up too quickly from a “down”. It’s a good thing she loves me! She ended up with another third place in Novice B with 83 points. Thanks to Judge Richard DiMarco for appreciating our girl. I think we’ll keep her 😉

Skye competed today in rally for the first time in Cleveland and took a first place getting her 1st leg toward an Advanced Rally title. I never know which Skye will show up when we enter the ring (the brilliant one or the obstinate one), and today she wanted to tell me how to do everything better. It was touch and go for a bit there, but we pulled through and ended up with a 79 and 1st place in Advanced A. Thanks to Judge Richard DiMarco for getting past the sass and appreciating my girl.

Little Miss Saucy played at a rally trial for the first time today and earned her 1st leg toward a Novice B title. She actually did well, taking a third place with a score of 94/100. I just need to loosen up on the leash a little and get her more practice. Thanks to Judge Richard DiMarco for appreciating my wild child.

We are in the quarter finals! If we win, $10,000 goes to Cleveland Zoological Society to help conserve endangered wildlife. They do great work in partnership with Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The other prize money will go to our dog sports.

Her 1st duck title is AKC official. Skye is now CH New River's Connelly Skye RN HSAd NA NAJ CGC TKI (CH Aryggeth’s Straight on Till Morning X CH New River’s Hot Pursuit). Thanks to coach Cheryl Sacerich for her patience in getting us to this point. The sheep pic is added just cause I like it 🥰

Little Miss Saucy passed her test tonight and pending AKC has her first big girl title, Canine Good Citizen. She will be Connelly Skye’s Legend of Saucy Mary CGC. Most of the video has lots of people, so out of respect I’m not sharing it. This was a little portion of the 10 activities she had to successfully complete.

Congratulations to Dotti and Alan Gesford and their special girl Marcy who have been very busy. Marcy is 11 month old Connelly's Marcella Skye Of Maplewood Park CGC STR (CH Overland Playmaker x CH New River’s Connelly Skye RN HT NA NAJ CGC TKI). Pending AKC approval she will add Trick Dog Novice and Intermediate to the titles. And that’s not all! This weekend she achieved the Companion Sports Dog Program Novice Starter title. We are incredibly proud of our smart little girl and very happy to see her so loved.

Do you have a favorite colored collie? Tricolor, sable and white, white, blue merle, sable merle. Did I miss any?

What do you look at the closest when choosing your next collie or litter of collies? Color is nice, but I think there are far more important characteristics to look for.

You can surely guess what color has grown on me!

Saucy had some fun at the Ravenna Kennel Club’s Show on Mother’s Day. No points yet, but as reserve winner she went on to get Puppy Variety Group 2nd and Bred by Exhibitors Variety Group 4th. It gave her good practice for the future.
