👀 Quick veterinary science question: Do dogs have cannabinoid receptors?

Yes — and a lot of them. In fact, dogs have a notably high concentration of CB1 receptors in the cerebellum and brainstem, which is exactly why they're so responsive to cannabinoids like CBD — and exactly why THC is toxic to them even at small doses.

This is the endocannabinoid system at work, and it's one of the most important biological systems most pet owners have never heard of.
