Junie is a brown tabby female who is the sweetest goofball. She is 10 months old. She's a wonderful friend to all her foster siblings and is comfortable around dogs as well. She has a lot of character; she's playful, courageous and a love bug. Junie is an endearing sweetie and gives rumbling purrs the moment you give her any pets. She's especially close to her sibling Julie and would love to see them find a forever home together. She might not look very fancy, but the right family will understand how beautiful and special she is. She had a hard start to life as she was rescued from the euthanasia list of a high kill shelter. When the fosters got Junie she was very depressed. Over time, she has completely opened up and become the cheerful little lady that they love today. She will be an amazing member to her future family.

It's estimated that almost 300 species have been saved from extinction by the Endangered Species Act since it took effect in 1973. Established to prohibit the taking, importing, and exporting of endangered wildlife, or harming them by modifying their habitats, it has been revised several times in its history.

The U.S. government recently proposed four regulatory modifications that could make it easier to consider economic issues when deciding whether and how to protect a species. And now more changes have just been approved. Conservationists have expressed concern about what this could mean for endangered animal and plant species.
