We have been helping homeless animals along the Connecticut shoreline and vicinity since April 2003. Hundreds of displaced animals come through our doors each year and it takes a lot of time, rehabilitation and veterinary care to place them into new homes. With such great support from the Town of Branford, our dedicated staff and our terrific volunteer base, we provide some of the best animal cont

Introducing Reggie and Robyn.

These two lost their mom at only 2 weeks old and have been in foster care ever since. They are super smart. Already eating on their own and litter box trained. It took them no time at all to figure it all out. Both playful kittens,

Reggie would prefer to be held and snuggled. Robyn loves to interact with humans and be pet. They have been with other kittens and love to run around and play with them and then snuggle all together in a kitten
pile.

While the Animal Control Team was put on a call at The Greens Condominium’s in Branford this morning , one of the animal control officers found this necklace on the ground near Emerson Rd . We are hoping to locate its owner .

🙏FOUND DOG 🙏

This poor soul was found last Monday supposedly in a ditch between Main St and Chestnut St in Branford .

He has received medical care and pain treatment but his eyes ruptured long ago and he has been severely neglected . He is a senior and he has a microchip to the Bronx however the phone number is disconnected and after researching it leads nowhere .

This is the look of 365 days of living in a kennel . This look of pleading , waiting , hoping .. that someone will come along that has the right set up for him .

Freddy is 8-9 years old and he is some sort of hound type mix . Freddy has laryngeal paralysis which will make him a hospice dog . He does not require special food or medications . He is a lower energy level dog and would be happy with a few short walks a day .

Freddys ideal home is :

✅air conditioning

✅low traffic - not a lot of visitors ( having the ability to put in a crate or separate room when new people come)

✅No children or other animals

✅Good dog for someone elderly or just someone wanting a companion that’s easy to maintain

✅Freddys medical care will be covered for his whole life by the shelter

Freddy loves meeting people and even interacting with dogs when he’s not on his home property . He came from a hoarding house and has PTSD from his previous living situation .

Please share Freddys story so he can finally sleep in a home and not have to wake up one more day in a kennel.

Meet Ryder and Raven, these two babies needed rescue after their Mom went into emergency treatment for Mastitis. They’ve been bottle fed and are now moving on to food. They are both very sweet and love to play but also calm down and love to cuddle and purr. Ryder’s favorite is wresting and when Raven has had enough she lets him know. Both are used to being held and love to be pet!

DO YOUR KIDS LOVE ANIMALS AND LEARNING???

Dan Cosgrove Animal Camp is an interactive, hands-on animal program! Campers will learn about all types of animals from insects to amphibians to canines to fowl! Over the years we have had some amazing animal guests from Wolves to Tarantulas to Alligators to Pigs. This program includes arts and crafts, outdoor games, field trips and so much more ! ***This is a week long camp. The dates below represent the start of that week. For example, if you choose June 22, 2026 you will be signed up for the week (June 22nd - June 26th).****
PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL AS WELL AS ALL OF YOUR FORMS COMPLETED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED SIGNED UP!

Animal Camp Managers will email all parents with info by the first week of June.

🐶PLEASE SHARE🐶

Ace is a boxer mix and is currently in a foster home with one of our volunteers . Ace is about 1-2 years old . He struggled being in the shelter after a while because unfortunately adoptions are really slow so the wonderful volunteer offered to foster him until we could find him a forever home !
The volunteer has told us that Ace does great in his crate from 9-4:30 am while she sleeps and also every day while she works . She said he is great in the house and loves meeting new people . He can get excited sometimes and jump but when she tells him to stop he listens .
She said he is very respectful when she walks him and with her daughter Ace will run and play .

One of our observant residents found this little wood duck all by her lonesome .

She brought her to us and our animal control officer , Lexi, drove her to a rehabilitation center .

She is all safe and sound due to wonderful teamwork 🦆♥️
