Yesterday was a very eventful day at the vet.

Vinny was rescued after desperately trying to get indoors for help. He arrived extremely thin, covered in ticks, and losing a significant amount of hair. Out of an abundance of caution, diagnostics were performed and we are currently waiting on results. He also has the start of a mild upper respiratory infection.

Oat, a 7 week old kitten who has been in our care with his mom and siblings since they were just 3 weeks old, suffered a full a**l prolapse that required surgical repair.

Lastly, Big Red, a neighborhood feral cat we’ve been trying to help since winter, was finally trapped so he could receive much needed care. He had severe matting across his back that could only be relieved through humane trapping and shaving.

Cases like these are why rescue work matters so much, but they also come with significant veterinary expenses. Please consider donating toward their care. ❤️

Meet Casper!

Casper is a 3 year-old sweetheart who has truly come out of his shell since his rescue in February. When he first came to us, he was shy and reserved, taking time to observe the world around him. But after just a couple of weeks moving into our shelter, his loving personality began to shine through. He’s one of our friendly free roaming residents!

Casper absolutely loves spending time up high on the cat wall furniture where he can lounge like the king he is. He’s also a big fan of felt mice toys and will happily play the day away. One of his favorite things? Having his head brushed - it’s the quickest way to win him over!

Casper will likely need a little patience and time to acclimate in a new home, but once he feels safe and comfortable, he blossoms into an affectionate and wonderful companion. Watching his transformation has been incredibly rewarding, and we know the right family will fall in love with him just like we did.

Little Maylee needs your help.

Maylee was brought to the ER yesterday, she has not been able to keep food down and is very painful. The estimate below is what we are facing to diagnose and treat her. We need to get her feeling better!

We’re excited to share that we passed our shelter inspection today! This has been a long time coming since October of last year - a lot of blood, sweat and tears was poured into this space making it what it is today.

This is such an important milestone for A Chance for Love Rescue and reflects the hard work, dedication, and love that goes into caring for our cats every single day.

While this is a huge accomplishment, we still urgently need DIRECT CARE volunteers to help our shelter operate smoothly. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch scared cats come out of their shells and build bonds with animals who truly need compassion and care. Even a few hours of your time can make a life changing difference.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, now is the perfect time. We’ve received a lot of interest but not enough follow through to move cats into the space, we need you!

Patricia came to us from a local animal control looking for a second chance at comfort, care, and love. Because of generous donations from supporters like you, we were able to provide senior bloodwork to better understand her health needs.

That testing revealed that Patricia has hyperthyroidism, a common condition in senior cats that can greatly affect their quality of life if left untreated. Thankfully, with medication and proper management, Patricia is now feeling more comfortable and able to enjoy the life she deserves.
