This National Cat Day, we have 9 NEW reasons to celebrate!🎉

We've recently welcomed 9 beautiful cats into our rescue family, bringing our total to 20 cats currently in our care! That's 20 precious lives, 20 unique personalities, and 20 little hearts deserving of love, safety, and a forever home. 🏡❤️

While our hearts are full, so are our food bowls, litter boxes, and supply shelves! Caring for 20 cats is no small task, and we couldn't do it without the incredible support of our community.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Christopher Duffy, a beloved former adopter and longtime supporter of A Chance for Love Rescue.

Chris had a heart of gold, and that was evident in the love and care he gave to his cats. He supported our rescue efforts from the very beginning, adopting two orange boys, Baxter and Cornelius, back in 2016. Over the years, Chris always kept us updated on how the boys were doing, and it brought us so much joy to see them happy, loved, and thriving in their home.

We are incredibly grateful that Chris was part of our rescue family. His kindness and support will not be forgotten, and we are honored to have played a small part in bringing Baxter and Cornelius into his life.

We extend our deepest condolences to Chris’s family and loved ones. May they find comfort in the memories they shared with him and peace during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Chris. ❤️

Silas came to us from one of our rescue partners after he showed up to her colony as a friendly stray. In the beginning, He was a little scared and very skinny which you can see in that first photo. We have been able to really see him grow and come out of his shell. He is the king of the scratcher loungers. When not chilling, He loves taking on the butterfly on the interactive toy.

Silas is a big love as well. He enjoys head scratches and snuggles. Silas gets along well with other cats and cat savvy children.

Silas is FIV+ but he can live a long healthy life with proper care.

The black and white cat who had no name is officially no longer nameless. Everyone meet Andy! From the video below I think he likes our choice! Since we kicked the fleas to the curb his fun loving personality has come out. He just loves to snuggle up on all our volunteers. He is not ready to go home just yet but if you are interested please fill out an adoption application on our website.

We rescued Casper back in February in the snow from the streets in Waterbury, which you can see in the photos below. He then became our first resident in our rescue space in Branford. He was very shy in the beginning hanging out on the cat wall and only accepting pets from a brush on an extended stick. In our care we have been able to see him grow and show his real personality. He loves affection and to be near you. We have loved seeing this amazing change, just check out the difference in his photos.

He gets along well with other cats and is good with cat savvy children. If you are looking for your next family member Casper would be a great fit.

The Cat With No Name 💔

“I surrender the custody of the cat with black and white marks.”

Those were the words written on his surrender form. Not even a name. Just a description of what he looked like.

He came to us flea infested and shy, unsure of the world around him. Today, he’s alert, friendly and learning that people can be kind.

Every cat deserves more than to be a line on a piece of paper. He deserves a name, a safe place to call home, and someone who loves him. We hope his next chapter is one where he finally gets all three. ❤️
