Knox and Co went to the Rainier Sporting Dog Association Specialty last weekend, hosted at the beautiful in Olympia and we had a blast. The weather was perfect, which makes outdoor shows fabulous, but this is without a doubt the most unique and gorgeous show we have ever been to. The simple, "old school" low key homage to sporting dog shows was a very cool vibe, and the grounds were stunning. I think I spent 2 hours just sniffing roses.

Oh, and we won a chair!💜💛💜

We'll be back for this lovely event for sporting dogs only, next year.

There ya go FastCat wannabes! You can train at home with a legit coursing kit.

Of course, with 6 rabbits living under my front porch, EVERY day is fastcat at Chateau Hellfire. 😆😆

DIY FYI pro-tip: Any dog sport that only costs $500 in equipment is a legit bargain. I'm pretty sure I spent around that for my cheapo tracking stuff, with all the books, etc. (Also, one of the funnest sports.)

Steve found his forever family here in Montana! I seriously cried when he left. He will always be one of my favorite puppies, and was a true joy to have in the house.

Our 2026 Breeding Plans Updated: 04/29/2026

Crossing our fingers because Chee-Chee is being bred to Hondo (Pod X Gem 2024) in a week! His OFA screenings are done and his HIP prelim was Excellent! If it works, puppies will be due in JULY, ready to go in mid-September. I am building a wait list now!

Gem is being sent out to a Field Champion/National Field Champion for a late FALL litter this year.

Both Gem and Chee-Chee are OFA CHIC. Hondo's CHIC is expected in May upon completion of his final Hip/Elbow OFA. All three of these dogs are VERY high drive and energy. Gem is smaller and more traditionally built, but Chee-Chee and Hondo are leggy racehorses that need to run.

He has been a frustratingly slow to mature dog. I doubt we will finish his GCHS this year, but at least I know that topline is going to last through next year. ❤️

Beautiful outdoor show in Yakima over the weekend. So well organized, even better than Sequim, and I forgot how pretty it is! My bestie volcano, Mount Adams, was sparkling in the background.

My favorite Junior handler, Arik K, has been on a winning streak with Twosday. He's handled her to all 9 Grand Champion points and Breed wins. This big girl can moooove. ❤️ (We are still working on the post baby coat.)

Steve's schedule:
I get up and let him run around for 30 minutes.
Steve has breakfast.
Steve has a 4 hour post breakfast nap.
Steve gets up, goes outside to potty, and plays with a few toys.
Steve gets on the couch and watches the news a bit.
Steve practices heels and sits.
Steve has a quick pre-dinner nap.
Steve has dinner.
Steve is a bit energized and plays with more toys. (He likes the crunchy water bottles best)
Steve watches the Roman Empire historical documentaries for 3 hours.
Steve goes to bed.
