📣It's Veterinary Receptionists Week! 📣

In a mobile practice, every day looks a little different—but one thing stays the same: the incredible people behind the scenes making it all happen.

Our reception team is juggling routes, answering questions, easing worries, and making sure every patient gets the care they need—often all at once.

They are the steady voice on the other end of the line and such a big part of the experience we strive to create for our clients and their pets.

We are so grateful for them—not just this week, but every single day 💚

If they’ve made your life a little easier (or your pet’s visit a little smoother), we’d love for you to share your experience or tag us so we can celebrate them with you 💚

Many cat owners have never heard of Bobcat Fever — but it can become life-threatening in just a few days.

This serious tick-borne disease affects cats across the southern U.S., and cases tend to increase as ticks become more active in the warmer months.

Bobcat Fever is caused by a parasite transmitted through tick bites. While bobcats are the natural carriers, domestic cats can become infected if bitten by an infected tick.

The difficult part? Symptoms can appear suddenly and progress quickly.

Swipe through to learn:
🐾 What Bobcat Fever is and why is is dangerous
🐾 Warning signs to watch for
🐾 How you can help protect your cat

The best protection is always consistent tick prevention, even for cats that only spend limited time outdoors.

If you have questions about parasite prevention or want to make sure your pet is protected, we’re always happy to help!

🐾 Meet the Bus Dogs

Our mobile clinic has two very important (and very cute) team members who help keep us company on the road!

🐶 Jenny
Jenny is our social butterfly and absolutely loves coming to work every day. She’s super friendly, loves attention from anyone she meets, and is always happy to greet new friends. While she’s brave on the road, storms are definitely not her favorite thing. Her all-time favorite treat? CET chews!

🐶 Stitch
Stitch is our resident “crotchety old man”. He comes to work with his mom, Dr. Ellie, every day because he has a little separation anxiety — but we don’t mind the extra company! Stitch has been by Dr. Ellie’s side since 2016 and is truly her soul dog. Thankfully, Jenny is always there as his emotional support bestie on the bus.

Between the two of them, the "Magic School Bus" is never short on personality or puppy supervision. 🚌🐾

🐶 Constant scratching? It might be time to talk about Apoquel.

Apoquel is a daily tablet that helps control itching caused by allergic dermatitis in dogs. It works by targeting the pathways that cause inflammation and itchiness.

Benefits of Apoquel:
• Starts working quickly (often within 24 hours)
• Helps control itching and inflammation
• Easy daily dosing

For many pets, Apoquel can be a great option for long-term allergy management.

Every pet is different, so we’re always happy to help you decide which treatment option is best.

Meet the Mobile Team: 💻Racheal Allen🤗

Racheal is Bowling Green born and bred and loves serving the community she calls home. She entered the veterinary world in 2021 with no prior experience and quickly realized she couldn’t imagine doing anything else. When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her husband Austin, their daughter Margo, and their two dogs — Blossom the basset hound and Bumi the golden retriever.
______

🚐 Favorite part of mobile vet life
I typically work from home, which means I get more time with my daughter — but I always enjoy the days I get to hop on the road, see pets, and meet our clients in person.

🐶 Fun fact
I was actually terrified of dogs as a kid… and now I have two of my own!

📱 One thing people don’t realize about mobile clinics
I’m usually the first point of contact when you reach out. I wear a lot of hats — answering texts and emails, scheduling appointments, managing social media, and helping keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

🥨 Go-to on-the-road snack
Chocolate-covered pretzels — salty and sweet, the best of both worlds.

📖 Favorite hobby outside of work
I collect hobbies! Right now I’m really into reading and “junk journaling.”

🌍 Something on my bucket list
Traveling to Europe. I’d love to travel outside of the United States and explore new places.

🦝 Favorite animal (besides dogs & cats)
Red pandas — they’re absolutely adorable!
