Dewey is the definition of easy-going! This laid-back guy is just happy to be part of the fun; whether that means lounging on the couch or strolling around the neighborhood with his favorite humans.

Dewey gets along great with dogs of all sizes and adores people. He does well with greeting new dogs and has lived with lots of other dogs and been good with them all. He has not met any cats but he would most likely be fine with them. Similarly, he has not been around kids, but he is so sweet and gentle, he would probably do well.

Dewey is both potty and mostly crate trained. He walks well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.

If you’re looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who is equal parts cuddle buddy and walking partner, Dewey’s your guy. He is ready to find his forever home—could it be with you?

Jules is a sweet, affectionate gal who's looking to be a part of your pack! She is a medium-energy pup who loves to romp around the yard and join adventures followed by a nap shortly after. Jules is looking for a home who's ready to show her all the world has to offer.

She gets along well with other pups and has a submissive personality that adjusts well to other playstyles. Jules has interacted well with cats down south and likely be fine with or without a feline sibling. She hasn't lived with kids yet but her gentle personality would likely be fine with or without one in the home.

Jules is a smart gal who is eager to please and loves her people. She is mostly crate trained and fully house trained. Jules is crated during the day and has been fine when left out of her crate overnight. She may whine at first but settles in time. She has walked well on leash and will continue to improve as he gains more experience.

Jules has a beautiful brindle coat and even more beautiful temperament that will have you falling in love with her in no time. Are you ready to welcome her home?

Meet, Albus Allen! He is a charming dog with a quirky and fun personality. He has a low to medium energy level; he loves playing with toys and romping in the backyard, but will settle in his crate for a post play nap. He can be a bit reserved at first, but with time, gentle encouragement and treats he will become your new best friend. He would do amazing in a home with or without a doggy sibling.

This lover of all dogs wants to go say hi to every pup he meets! He thrives being around other dogs. He has ignored the four cats in his foster home and has done well with kids, although he would do best with dog savvy children who can give him the space he needs while he gets to know them. He loves his toys, especially his squeaky ones and will entertain himself often, making him a low maintenance puppy.

Albus is crate trained and will happily go in for meals and bedtime. He is also housetrained on a schedule. He goes on walks every day and is doing well with his leash skills. He'll continue to thrive and build confidence with consistency.

Sonny is a handsome, loving boy whose beautiful coat gets him attention wherever he goes—which is fine with him, because his favorite thing is making new friends! This mid-energy potato loves to play with doggy friends, and otherwise will just snooze around the house. Sonny is looking for a forever home where he can get as much love and affection as he gives.

Sonny is a lover boy who greets new people and dogs with his signature happiness. He especially enjoys being with other dogs, and would love to live with a canine sibling or to go to doggy daycare where he could play with pals. Sonny has been great with the kids he’s met, and has ignored all cats, making him an easy fit for almost any family. This happy guy just wants to be a companion to all of the members of his household.

Sonny is house trained and has been working hard on his crate training. He’s crated occasionally during the day and consistently overnight, and while he’d rather be hanging out with his humans, he settles in after a few minutes and naps in his crate. He loves going on walks and showing off his great leash manners.

Between his extroverted personality and striking good looks, Sonny is sure to be a neighborhood celebrity in no time. Could you be his new talent manager?

Meet Nicki Vee! She is a sweet, fun puppy with long legs and a big smile! This medium-energy girl likes to play with her toys, but she settles right down when it’s time for her to soak up some affection from her people. Nicki would do great in a home with or without dogs.

Nicki has a calm greeting style when she meets other dogs, but after the initial greeting, she is ready to play. She likes to approach new people slowly to sniff them, and once she’s had the time and space to do that, she’s fast friends with everyone she meets! Nicki hasn’t spent time with kids or cats yet, but with her gentle and affectionate nature she would likely do well with both. This sweet girl’s favorite activities are playtime with other pups and cuddling with her humans.

This model student is smart and eager to learn. She is house trained when put on a consistent schedule, and is starting to alert when she needs to go out. She is working on her crate training, but in time she will undoubtedly happily settle into her crate. Nicki is still working on her leash skills as she wants to be so close to her humans, she tends to bump into your legs from time to time. With patience and practice, this clever girl will be the perfect walking buddy.

Say hello to Tracy, a big-eared, tail-wagging, certified good girl! Tracy is a social butterfly who loves everyone and is up for anything, as long as she gets to be copilot in the car. She is an adaptable pup who is looking for a family excited to bring home a puppy and ready to include her in their love.

Tracy is an active, medium energy puppy who loves all activities with a nap shortly following. She is a social gal, enjoying the company of other pups and kids. While Tracy has not met any cats, she would likely do fine with cats with proper introductions and consistent boundaries given her gentle and sweet demeanor.

She is smart and eager to please, quickly picking up commands lile 'sit' and 'come'. Tracy is fully crate-trained and mostly house-trained. She is crated occasionally during the day and overnight without any issues, where she may whine at first but settle quickly. She is nearly housetrained when taken out on a regular schedule and routine. Tracy enjoys her daily strolls and would benefit from a confident handler who can provide some structure as she navigates her new environment.

Tracy approaches every day with a joy that makes everyone around her happier. Could you be the new best friend she’s been looking for?

🐾🍷 The countdown is ON for Sips to Save Lives, our annual gala to benefit the dogs of LHK9! 🐶💛

This year we will be returning to City Winery on Saturday, November 15th and will feature the return of fan-favorite emcee and auctioneer Dukas, live music, an open bar hosted by Rhodium Spirits, Boston Beer Co. and Kobrand Wines, as well as silent and live auctions featuring vacation packages, sports tickets, dining experiences, and more!

Sips to Save Lives is our largest annual fundraising event in support of our mission to save abandoned, abused and neglected dogs from high kill shelters in Central Arkansas and place them in loving, adoptive homes. Your support makes it possible for LHK9 to continue saving lives despite the high cost of treating dogs who enter our program with medical and training needs.

Zaria is an affectionate, and loyal girl with a real zest for life. She is a medium energy dog who enjoys a play session, followed by a nap.

She benefits from slow introductions to other dogs. She would also be fine as an only dog. Zaria happily entertains herself with toys or a romp in the backyard. She has lived with cats and has for the most part ignored their presence. Zaria loves her people and enjoys making new human friends. She can be an enthusiastic greeter and sometimes forgets her size, so older dog-savvy children would be best for her. Zaria enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood and looks to her humans for reassurance and guidance in new situations.

Zaria is an intelligent girl and very eager to please. She knows a plethora of commands, and loves to learn new things every day. She is fully house trained and crate trained. Zaria enjoys relaxing in her crate throughout the day and sleeps soundly in it overnight. She is looking for an experienced and patient adopter who will continue to provide her with structure and routine so she can continue to be her best self.

Red is a gentle, sensitive soul who’s slowly coming into his own. He’s a medium-energy pup who enjoys his playtime, but also loves to lounge. Red would thrive in a patient, quiet home with people who are committed to building trust and helping him feel safe.

Red gets along well with other dogs and finds a lot of comfort in their presence. Playful, confident pups are his favorite kind of friends! While his experience with cats is unknown, his gentle disposition would most likely be fine with a dog-savvy cat. Red would do best with older, dog-savvy children (13+) who can respect his space and move at his pace. His favorite activities include exploring the neighborhood on walks, playing in the yard with canine pals, and cruising around in the car - bonus points if he gets to ride shotgun!

Red is a smart pup who’s learning to navigate the world with more confidence each day. He’s working on crate training and does well with short stints throughout the day, especially when rewarded with treats like boiled chicken or a stuffed Kong. He may bark when left alone, but settles with time and consistency. Red is mostly house trained - he’s only had one accident due to a thunderstorm and will continue to improve with a regular routine. On leash, he walks beautifully and loves his daily outings. With continued structure, patience, and gentle boundaries, Red will flourish.
