Halloween fun, sunny days, and happy pups!! Here's a look at this week's adventures at Rusty's Retreat!

When we first began designing our kennels, we wanted them to reflect something much deeper than just a place for dogs to stay. We wanted to honor the incredible impact dogs have had on our lives and the special place they hold in our families.

My sister Lindsey Russell came up with the idea of naming each kennel after a special dog, and she went a step further by custom tracing and wood routing each of those dog's name herself. Some of those pups are still with us today, while others have crossed the rainbow bridge, but each one has a story and a place in our hearts.

We never imagined we'd be sharing one of these stories with such a heavy heart, but today we said goodbye to a very special member of the Russell family, Cash.

Cash has been part of the family for 10 years. It's never easy saying goodbye to a companion who has been woven into so many years of memories. We'll always remember Cash for his beautiful nature, his calm presence, and all the special moments that made him so loved.

Although he's no longer with us, his memory will live on here at Rusty's Retreat. Every day, when we see Cash's Corner, we'll be reminded of the wonderful dog he was and the love he brought to the people around him.

Rest easy, sweet Cash. You were loved, you'll be missed, and you'll always have a place in our hearts.

These pups showed up looking adorable in their Halloween costumes 😍 Give your favorite look a reaction to vote for them! The winner will get a free day of daycare and the runner up will get a stuffed Kong during their next visit! Winner will be announced Sunday evening!

Everyone please welcome Glenn to the Rusty's family 🥰

He is a 2 year old Pit Bull mix, about 45 pounds. He is a sweet, super silly boy who loves to play! He doesn't know a stranger, he jumps right into play time. His bold introductions could make a timid dog uncomfortable, so meet and greet will be needed with other dogs.

He is very smart and will pick up training quickly! Come meet Glenn at Rusty's Retreat and hopefully find your new best friend 💙🐾

Great news! Finley has been adopted!! Steven and his family were ready to open their hearts and home up to a new dog when they came across Finley! It was an instant connection, Finley was so excited, he couldn't sit still for a photo 😆 We're excited for Steven and his family, and very happy knowing Finley is going to be a spoiled boy!!

Our Thursday small dog group has been having so much fun, we're expanding the options! Starting Monday, October 26th, we will have a second dedicated small dog group! We're excited to provide another opportunity for our smaller pups more time to socialize, play and burn some energy!

Everyone prepare to fall in love with the new 🥰

Meet Finley!!

He is around 1 year old, sweet, silly and full of energy! He loves to be held and get belly rubs! He would probably make a great running buddy - I'm not a runner and won't be testing out this theory 😆

He has met a few dogs so far and gotten along well with them. He jumps right in to play but might be intimidating to a timid dog, would need a dog intro.

He is very smart!! Will pick up on training pretty fast! We are working on potty training now but think that he'll pick it up very quick with a set routine at home.

Finley needs to be in a teens and up home.

Come during our visiting hours or contact us to set up a weekend appointment to meet Finley!
