Our process involves moving these animals to our shelter, where we conduct thorough evaluations and provide necessary veterinary care. In cases requirin

g additional attention, we ensure they are examined by a veterinarian. The dogs we take in come from various backgrounds – they could be strays, owner surrenders, or breeder throwaways. Our primary goal is to shield these dogs from a hard death from starvation, disease and/or injury and offer them a chance for a better life. Once at our shelter, they become part of our list of available, adoptable dogs. We take pride in finding suitable homes for our furry friends, either through direct adoptions or by collaborating with rescue groups that specialize in placing animals. It's important to note that, more often than not, we are unaware of the history of the dogs we rescue. Despite this, we are committed to giving them a second chance and ensuring their well-being. 🇺🇸 AC is Rescue Ready and eligible for transport on August 22 unless adopted locally first.

Today’s clip says it all: AC nose‑to‑nose with Diego, standing on his hind legs with his front paws around Diego’s face like he’s giving him a little “okay look… here’s how this is gonna go down” pep talk. Two seconds later, they trot off happily like best friends. That’s AC — steady, social, hilarious, and the peacekeeper of the play yard.

Ummmm… why do the white dogs always make a beeline for the brown water?
Carter and Ellington saw one (1) accidental hose puddle and said, “Perfect. Let’s become taupe.”

Every day out here is a surprise.
Sometimes it’s training breakthroughs…
Sometimes it’s mud baths…
Sometimes it’s realizing you left the hose on too long and created a spa you never asked for.

Either way, the white dogs are gonna find it.

Meet Diego —

He’s a 1‑year‑old Mountain Cur mix, 61 pounds, neutered, fully vetted, and heartworm negative.

Diego came in as a stray but clearly had some training. He knows a couple of commands, walks beautifully on the leash, and is very treat‑motivated. He plays well with a group of adult female dogs and keeps a tidy kennel. His recent neuter will continue to help calm him around male dogs.

He’s friendly, smart, people‑focused, and ready to settle into a home that wants an easy, well‑mannered young dog.

Diego is available for transport to the Chicago area on August 22, 2026.

For a tiny rural rescue that started with zip ties, borrowed crates, and sheer stubbornness… that’s insane.

Apparently the internet likes watching a scrappy little rescue in West Tennessee get dogs into good homes.

We appreciate every single one of you. Even the lurkers. Even the people who only show up for the next playgroup reel.

These three superstars are ready — they just need YOU to help get them on that van.

ELLINGTON— Sweet, gentle, 10-month old Great Pyrenees mix who’s like walking a cloud on a leash. Totally easy foster dog.

BRANDI — They don’t get any better than Brandi. Sweetly submissive but not at all timid. Loves to play but also known to sleep with all 4 legs in the air.

DIEGO — Our Black Mouth Mountain Cur who loves to tell you his life’s story. A true volunteer favorite.

Diego: Looks Quiet. Actually Has a Lot to Discuss.

Meet Diego, the dog who pretends to be calm and collected… right up until you walk away.

When you’re standing there, he’s the picture of serenity — polite sit, soft eyes, total chill. But take a few steps back and suddenly he’s narrating his feelings like he’s filing a customer service complaint about being ignored.

He’s not wild. He’s not unpredictable.
He’s just hilarious — a genuinely expressive dog who believes communication is important and you should be kept updated on his emotional status at all times.

Diego doesn’t bark — he commentates.
He doesn’t whine — he explains.
He doesn’t cry — he shares his thoughts on why you should come back immediately and resume giving him attention.
