These puppies still haven’t gotten any interest! They may look like little mutts, but they sure are some of the cutest, happiest mutts around! 🥰

Meet the Snack Puppies!
These adorable cuties look like mini labs with a little Heeler and terrier thrown into the mix. They’re about 8 weeks old and 6–8 pounds, and we estimate they’ll be around 30–45 pounds full grown.

They’re yet another accidental litter, but thankfully mom will be getting fixed, and all of these pups will be spayed/neutered as well so we can help break the cycle of endless unwanted litters. 💛

They’re happy, playful puppies who adore attention and are super sweet with great temperaments. They’ll make amazing family companions and wonderful best friends!

Girls: Nilla, Goldfish, Cheez-It, Pringle

Sweet as her name, Candy is a 2-year-old, 8.5-lb wirehaired dachshund mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she loves with her whole heart and becomes the ultimate cuddle companion 💕

Candy would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can blossom at her own pace. She’s house trained, enjoys leash walks, and gets along well with dogs and cats. Her absolute favorite things? This is a hard post to write, but it needs to be said.

We see this all the time — and every time, I just want to put my hand over my face because what starts with the best intentions so often backfires.

Someone sees a dog on the euthanasia list.
They panic.
They pull the dog.
They mean well. Truly.

And then reality hits.

Now there’s a dog who doesn’t get along with another dog in the home.
Now there’s tension, fights, stress, safety concerns.
Now there’s a frantic post asking rescues to step in… when rescues are already beyond full.

Here’s the truth that isn’t easy to hear: rescues cannot take every dog — and right now, we have to be very selective.

At Charming Pet Rescue, we specialize in family-friendly pets. We temperament test before dogs come in, we continue observing and documenting behavior while they’re in our care, and we do intentional dog-to-dog and dog-to-human matchmaking. We do this so adopters have confidence — and so if something truly doesn’t work out, there’s a safety net.

That matters.

What breaks my heart is hearing, over and over:

“We were going to adopt from you, but we chose a sad shelter dog instead.”

And here’s the thing people don’t realize:
ALL of our dogs were once sad shelter dogs.
Every single one of them was abandoned in some way — from shelters, from homes that couldn’t keep them, from situations that failed them.

They don’t arrive happy.
We make them happy.
With structure. With assessment. With time. With the right matches.

Pulling a dog without a plan doesn’t save them long-term — it often just moves the crisis.

Please, please don’t do this unless you are locked and loaded to handle every possible aftermath:
• behavioral issues
• dog aggression
• management for life
• training costs
• safety decisions
• the possibility that rehoming may be extremely difficult

Good intentions are not enough. Love is not always enough. Rescue requires preparation, support, and realism.

If you want to help — truly help — support reputable rescues, foster through organizations that can guide you, or adopt dogs that have already been assessed and set up for success.

This dog deserves safety.
And people need to understand what they’re taking on before they say yes.

Hard truth — but one spoken with love.

I just spoke with the sweetest old lady that had a bunch of questions about a puppy she adopted from us and long story short, she has been scammed. 😫 Some guy named Jonathan Vincent, which I’m sure is a fake name. She has yet to receive the puppy and he called her to ask for money to take this “sick puppy” to the vet. Ugh, people are the WORST! If you think you’ve adopted from us, you will have our personal cellphone numbers and emails from our Charming email. I feel awful for her, poor sweet lady. 💔

Cairn Terrier Mix Puppies
Rachel and Ross are two absolutely adorable Cairn Terrier mix puppies looking for their forever homes!
Rachel – 4 lbs (light brown)
Rachel is the smaller of the two and has a gentle, sensitive soul. She can be shy and will sometimes hide when she’s scared, but once she feels safe, she’s incredibly sweet and cuddly. Rachel loves to play and enjoys curling up with her person for naps. She will do best in a patient, loving home that helps her build confidence.
Ross – 5.5 lbs (white)
Ross is confident, outgoing, and full of personality! He’s the more dominant and opinionated pup who loves to play and explore. Ross is great with bigger dogs and brings lots of fun energy wherever he goes. When playtime is over, he’s happy to snuggle up and relax.

Bradley is an 8-month-old, 17-pound bundle of pure joy wrapped in a brindle coat! This high-energy, toy-obsessed goofball loves nothing more than a good game of chase—whether it’s with his dog friends or his favorite squeaky toy.

He’s as sweet as they come and has a wonderfully submissive, gentle personality. Bradley gets along great with other dogs and is always ready for a cuddle session once the zoomies are out of his system.
