The Humane Society of Blue Ridge (HSBR) is a no-kill pet shelter and adoption center located in the North Georgia Mountains. HSBR was established in December 2008 by a group of dedicated volunteers who wanted to help save abandoned, injured, or mistreated animals in the Fannin County Georgia area. HSBR operates a thrift store located in downtown Blue Ridge and all proceeds go towards the animals. Come Like our HSBR business Page on Facebook to Keep Up with Current Events! Your generous donations will help us give the animals in our care the attention they deserve. Your monetary donations go a long way to helping homeless cats and dogs. OUR MISSION AT THE HSBR:

To promote respect for all living things. To provide for the welfare of abandoned, injured, or mistreated animals and to find them loving, permanent homes. We will work to increase the awareness of animal issues through public education, striving to end euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals and promote and offer affordable spay and neutering.

Remember BUSTER? 🥹❤️

Back in March, a good samaritan spotted a large black dog on Aska Road, helping a group of puppies cross the road. We're still not sure if those puppies were his babies, but one thing was clear: this gentle giant was looking out for them.

Thankfully, that good samaritan got everyone to safety, and BUSTER and the puppies came into our care here at Humane Society of Blue Ridge.

Over the next month or so, every single puppy found a home. And then it was BUSTER's turn! ❤️

BUSTER was adopted in April by two of our very own staff members, Dakota & Kevin, and we were thrilled for him!

We've always known BUSTER to be a sweet, gentle boy, but he's also a little unsure of new things. Stairs, car rides and unfamiliar places can be scary for him, and his new family has been patiently helping him build his confidence.

And y'all, LOOK AT HIM NOW! 🥹

BUSTER recently went on vacation with his family, where he conquered a flight of stairs, spent the day on a boat and even climbed into the car ALL BY HIMSELF for the ride home!

These might seem like little things, but for BUSTER, they're HUGE.

Our sweet, brave boy is learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all. And he's doing it with a family who loves him enough to let him figure things out at his own pace.

From looking out for puppies on the side of Aska Road to enjoying boat rides with his family, BUSTER has come such a long way.

We are SO proud of our gentle giant. ❤️

🚨 LOST DOG – ELLIJAY, GA 🚨

Please keep an eye out for Shi Shi!

Shi Shi has been missing for approximately four days and was last seen near 321 Trails End Summit in Ellijay, GA.

She is microchipped, but her collar was found in nearby bushes.

Cocktails for a Cause 🍸🐾

Chester Brunnenmeyer's Bar and Grill and Humane Society of Blue Ridge are teaming up to put the spotlight on some very deserving adoptable dogs, one cocktail at a time.

Next up: ALABAMA!

Through Halloween, order THE ALABAMA at Chester’s - a black mezcal margarita with a tajin rim 🍸🌶️🎃

100% of the profits from every ALABAMA cocktail sold will be donated to Humane Society of Blue Ridge, while ALABAMA gets some well-deserved attention of her own. 🥹

Then, mark your calendar for November 1, when HSBR will be at Chester’s for a special adoption event where you can meet some of the dogs behind the drinks.

🐾 HUTCH had a day out with Mckaylah, and we got some wonderful feedback from their adventure!

At just one year old and 33 pounds, HUTCH is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves exploring, going for walks, and apparently REALLY loves tennis balls. 😂🎾

Mckaylah shared that he did great on the leash, loved stopping to sniff everything, and was full of kisses and snuggles! In fact, he was so attached to his tennis ball that he didn't even want to put it down for a treat. 😆

She also shared that HUTCH did really well with everyone they encountered on the trail, showing calm, neutral reactions to unfamiliar people and other dogs.

We love getting to see how our shelter dogs behave outside of the Adoption Center. These outings give us valuable insight into their personalities and help us find the right homes for them.

Our Dog Day Out Program gives members of our community & visitors the opportunity to take one of our adoptable dogs out for a few hours of fun! Whether it's a hike, a walk around town, or just some time away from the shelter, these outings are wonderful for our dogs and help us learn more about them.

Tonight is a big night for the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, and we're excited to finally share something we've been working on all year!

We've applied for a $100,000 grant through Impact100Fannin for an initiative we're calling FIX FANNIN.

Through FIX FANNIN, we will make spay and neuter services more accessible to families throughout Fannin County while helping address pet overpopulation in our community.

The need for these services continues to grow, and we see firsthand how much they mean to the people and animals we serve.

Everyone deserves the chance to care for the animals they love. For most people, they're family, a source of comfort, and sometimes the only support or friend that they have in this world.

Tonight, Impact100 members will vote on the grant recipient, and we're incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share this initiative with them.

We invite you to take five minutes to watch our application video and learn more about why FIX FANNIN means so much to us and the community we serve.
