Wounded game recovery

10/28/2026

With the heat this past week, the calls slowed down. But the calls we did get, we were able to put some nice deer on the tailgate. We also were able to give closure to several hunters that wanted to be sure their shot wasn’t fatal.
Rutting activity is picking up. These rutting bucks can become almost invincible during this time. If you think you made a bad shot, give us a call sooner rather than later.

Our tracking dogs and we worked hard this weekend and they all did a great job.
Give us a call as a first option , don’t wait and make us your last option. Your chances of recovery will go up exponentially.

Dani took Linda and I along when she had the opportunity to help this ND young man recover his first ever deer. Hell ya, it was with a compound bow.
Heck of a deer young man.

Check out this gnarly buck Linda and Jimmy Dean recovered today. They also recovered this other nice buck. This made for two happy hunters.

Good way to start our Saturday morning. The Spring Valley team went 2 for 3 this morning. The non-recovery was a jumped deer, still very much alive.

Well, Dani is starting the season off just as she left off last season. ND season is starting good for the hunters.
Apologies for the crappy photo. It was raining cats and dogs.

We’ve been working the new pup, Slim Shady, on practice tracks and testing him. He along with Dani, and Jimmy Dean will ready for the season!!

05/31/2026

Slim Shady, at just 10 months old, has passed his UBT 1 and his UBT 2 tests this weekend.
Hunters….. this dog is ready to find some deer for y’all!!!
Looking forward to helping as many of you as we can this fall!!!

Scenting conditions were great today. Dani had two recovered before 10 am. Linda and Jimmy took a non fatal neck shot for quite some distance.
With gun season only 2 days away, remember, we will not track on public land during legal shooting hours. Wait times are still going to be a priority. Our dogs safety is our outmost importance. As well as ours.

This hunter contacted us after making what he believed was a good shot, but being in a swamp on public land he couldn’t find a blood trail to follow. Dani made very short work of it. He was right. He had made a very good shot, just no blood until the last 20 yards. 150yards to the recovery.
