Hi, I’m Belle!

I’m a 4-year-old Weimaraner/bully breed mix, and if I had to describe myself in three words, they’d be: “Ready! Let’s! GO!”

Walk? Let’s go.
Adventure? Let’s go.
Snuggles? Let’s go.
Snack? DEFINITELY let’s go.

I’ve got a big personality, an even bigger heart, and enough excitement to convince you that literally everything is worth celebrating. New people? Amazing. Old people? Also amazing. Someone looked in my general direction? Best day ever.

I came to Owen County Humane Society in 2024 after my owner couldn't reclaim me after surgery and while I’ve had a foster for a period, and a few meet-and-greets, I got passed over because I was a little too enthusiastic on leash. I know, I know... first impressions matter.

That’s why I’m spending some time at Mannered Mutts learning that I don’t have to sprint into every new adventure to enjoy it. We’re working on the basics like loose-leash walking, paying attention to my person, and proving that good manners and a big personality can absolutely coexist.

The good news? You can’t teach the kind of joy I have. I already come pre-programmed with that. I also make some truly spectacularly goofy faces, so if you say yes to me, your phone storage will never know peace again.

I’m just looking for someone who is looking for their new best friend to enjoy snuggles and playtime.

Belle is our new foster dog from Owen Humane in Spencer, Indiana. We take long term shelter residents and help them get adopted by providing donated board and train, enrichment boarding, private lessons, and grooming services and sharing about them online to help them find their forever home. ❤️ Let us know if you would like to meet her, foster, or adopt.

So excited to have Belle here with us. She is a wonderful dog. Excited to give her some manners and enrichment time and attention and help her on her journey to finding her forever home. ❤️ In addition to donating her board and train we will also be donating private lessons and a daycare package to help her new adopters with her transition. We absolutely love to help our shelter partners with their incredible mission to help the homeless dogs in our community. The Dog Days of Summer are here! We absolutely love our new paint job. Featuring Samantha, the artist in the middle. She is a woman of many talents providing exceptional pet care to our clients, helping dogs hit their training goals, and amazing presence on social media and running our marketing and website. She was 18 and still in high school when she started working for us as a kennel tech over 4 years ago and worked her way up while pursuing her undergrad at IU. We tearfully wish her the best as she pursues marketing full time in her next endeavor in a couple weeks. We love you!
