🐾 FOSTER FEATURE: Meet Gene & Merodie! 🐾
Today we’re shining the spotlight on two wonderful members of our foster family, Gene and Merodie, who opened their home to Edward (Eddie). 💛
After unexpectedly losing their beloved rescue dog, Max, on New Year’s Day, Gene and Merodie deeply missed having a dog in their home. They decided fostering could help fill some of that empty space in their hearts while also giving them the opportunity to make a difference through Adopt A Golden Birmingham.
And then came Eddie. 🥹🐾
Gene describes Eddie as sweet, playful, and an incredible companion. When Gene is working in his office, Eddie is usually right there beside him, just happy to be close to his person. ❤️
One of the biggest surprises? Merodie shares she was most surprised by how playful Eddie is as an almost 8-year-old pup! He absolutely loves his toys, loves to play, and seems to always have that tail wagging. 🧸🐕
Fostering gives dogs like Eddie something boarding simply can’t provide: the comfort of a home, companionship, love, and the chance to show us who they really are.
Right now, Adopt A Golden Birmingham needs more foster families to help get dogs out of boarding and into loving homes while they wait for their forever families.
You don’t have to be ready to adopt to change a dog’s life. Sometimes, you just have to be willing to give them a place to land. 💛
