The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is a charitable 501c3 organization caring for nearly 5,000 animals each year to help them find second chances in a new home, or to help reunite them with their grateful owners. For 70 years, the organization has worked tirelessly to care for the sick, treat the injured, comfort the unwanted and protect the abused. Whether helping people in need keep their p

ets through surrender prevention programs, offering low-cost veterinary services and clinics, as well as outreach and education events throughout the county, the ARL’s work goes far beyond the walls of the shelter.

Did you know that you can treat a dog here at the ARL to a short-term foster trip or a "Reset Retreat" to boost their spirits as they await a home of their own.

Drop in on any 1st or 3rd Thursday of the month from 3-5 pm to get matched with an available foster dog.

-No sign-up needed
-Keep your foster for 2-7 days
-Supplies included

We kicked off Clear the Shelters with an amazing 25 adoptions all in one day for our first Sponsored Adoption Event!

A huge thank you to the families who opened their hearts and homes through adoption, to our incredible staff and volunteers whose hard work made this event a success, and to the ASPCA for their support in making it all possible.

Join us as we prepare for another sponsored adoption day on Saturday, August 29 offering FREE ADOPTIONS for all qualifying animals.

You can still be part of the nationwide effort to Clear the Shelters all August long by adopting, donating, sharing our adoptable pets, or helping spread the word.

Louis is the best of both worlds! At 4 years old, he's a playful and goofy guy who still knows the best way to relax: Curled up in your lap for a cozy cuddle.

A few things to know about Louis:

-Playful, sweet, and loves lap time
-Shy at first, but blossoms with a little patience
-Enjoys being picked up for quiet snuggles
-Not a fan of being brushed (he has his boundaries, and hey, we respect that!)

There's only 2 vaccine clinics left in this year's Borough of Wyomissing series!

The ARL Mobile Vaccine Clinic will be held at the Wyomissing Fire Department (1259 Penn Avenue) from 4:00–6:00 PM on the following Thursdays:
- August 6
- October 8

These low-cost clinics make it easy and convenient to keep your dogs and cats up to date on important vaccinations throughout the year.

Pets can receive their rabies vaccine along with other essential immunizations, and microchipping will also be available for added peace of mind.

This cheerful pup greets every day like it's the best one yet!

Woofus is the kind of dog who reminds you not to take life too seriously. He's a 2-year-old pup always ready for an adventure, a game of fetch, or simply hanging out with his favorite people. His upbeat personality is contagious, and it's nearly impossible not to smile when he's around.
