🐾 Meet Winston! 10 Weeks Old and Already a WORKAHOLIC! 💪🐶
This little guy is a 10-week-old Labradoodle/Australian Shepherd mix, and let me tell you… he has absolutely NO QUIT in him!
Winston is joining me at MLK9 for the next two weeks, and I can already tell we're going to have our hands full in the best possible way!
His desire to work is through the roof. He wants to GO, GO, GO! He's incredibly driven, eager to engage, and always looking for the next opportunity to do something.
But with all that drive comes a few challenges!
Winston is a complete love bug, but he's also extremely feisty for just 10 weeks old. He struggles with frustration, especially when he doesn't get to do what he wants, and he's got a mouth on him that we're definitely going to be working on! 😂
Over the next two weeks, we're going to focus on building a strong foundation through:
🐾 Developing and imprinting foundational behaviors like sit, down, come, and place.
🐾 Introducing leash work and proper leash communication.
🐾 Addressing puppy biting and teaching appropriate boundaries.
🐾 Developing impulse control and learning how to work through frustration.
🐾 Teaching one of the most important skills for a dog like Winston… HOW TO RELAX!
And of course, we're going to have a whole lot of fun along the way!
Now, let's be very clear about something.
Two weeks of training with a 10-week-old puppy isn't going to produce a finished dog. Not even close!
This is about giving Winston a jump start. We're building the foundation, introducing communication, developing good habits, and helping him learn how to channel all that energy and drive into productive behaviors.
The real development will continue long after these two weeks, and consistency from his owners will be a huge part of his future success.
But man, am I excited about this little guy!
He's got the heart of a Belgian Malinois packed into that fluffy little body. No question about it! 😂🔥
