Rub-a-dub-dub, there’s a very dramatic pup in the tub! 🛁 Safe to say someone isn't a fan of spa day, but at least they smell amazing now. 🧼🐕
Want to make bath time less of a battlefield? Here is the quick cheat sheet every dog owner needs:
📅 **The Schedule:** Once every **4 to 8 weeks** is the sweet spot for most dogs. Washing them too often strips the natural oils they need for a healthy coat!
**✅ DO:**
* **Brush first:** Water locks in tangles and turns minor mats into a nightmare.
* **Use lukewarm water:** If it's too warm for a human baby, it’s too hot for them.
* **Distract them:** Put some peanut butter on a lick mat on the tub wall!
* **Dry those ears:** Always dry and clean their ears after a bath—and **especially after swimming in pools, lakes, or ponds!** Trapped moisture from natural water or pools is a prime setup for an ear infection.
**❌ DON’T:**
* **No human shampoo:** It ruins their skin's pH balance and causes major itching.
* **Don't get water down the canals:** Pop a cotton ball in each ear during the bath to block splashing.
* **Don't rush the rinse:** Leftover soap residue is the #1 cause of post-bath scratching.
