This past Friday, we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Dr. Shawn Dutton—marking nearly 39 years with St. Michael Veterinary Clinic and 29 years since opening Big Lake Area Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Dutton’s cheerful, calm and caring presence has meant so much to our team and to the countless clients and pets he’s cared for over the decades. His compassion for animals, exceptional surgical skill, and the wisdom he so generously shared with fellow veterinarians have left a lasting mark on our clinics and our community.

As he begins this well-deserved retirement, we want to thank him for the incredible impact he’s had on all of those who were lucky enough to be under his care. Dr. Dutton, you will be deeply missed, and we wish you all the very best in this next chapter.
