On August 5th, we are once again heading to the beautiful Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton, MA to dodge cow patties, nimbly traverse livestock trails, and slosh through mud to raise funds for New Entry’s farmer training programs!

We’ll complete 1.4 mile loops up a big hill, passing our veggie baton between team members. This is not a race for the faint of heart, but it’s for a great cause!

Thank you for helping us continue to support new farmers - and cross the finish line💚

Join us for an insect safari on the evening of Fri. August 14th on our farm in Beverly!

Spend an evening with a blacklight and a sheet, and see who shows up - from hawkmoths to underwings - and learn why protecting their habitat helps protect our harvests and wild landscapes too.

🌘The later you stay, the more you can see!

🔬Ecology lesson provided by Lepidopterist Teá Montagna and New Entry staff.

➡️What to Expect
•Exciting evening learning about nighttime pollinators with science experts.
•Recommended ages 11+
•The farm will be dark and roads are not LIT, perfect for viewing a lot of nighttime flying insects attracted by UV light.

Cost Details
Suggested donation of $7 per person. Donations support New Entry’s work training the next generation of farmers. No one is turned away - if the donation is not possible right now, register anyway!

The event is capped at 45 participants so sign up soon to save your spot @ nesfp.org/events/moth-ball

At a moment when new farmers face unprecedented barriers, from rising land costs to shrinking support systems, New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, a longstanding program of tufts_nutrition , is stepping forward to keep pathways open.

For years, New Entry has supported new and small-scale farmers and partnered with a nationwide network of training programs, incubators, and apprenticeships, equipping growers with the skills, mentorship, and market access they need to succeed.

This work is transformational. Farmers launch businesses, supply local markets, preserve farmland, and build economic stability for their families and communities. But recent funding disruptions put this progress, and future opportunities, at risk.

Your gift today helps ensure that new farmers don’t just start but thrive. With your support, we can expand access to land, strengthen farmer training pipelines, and sustain a diverse, resilient generation of growers.

Together, we can build a more equitable food system, one farm, one farmer, and one community at a time.

💚Please contribute to our summer crowdfunding campaign; any amount helps! -> https://give.tufts.edu/new-entry-sustainable-farming-project
