Cytaux is a blood parasite transmitted via the bite of an infected tick. Bobcats are the reservoir host. When a tick feeds on an infected bobcat, the tick acquires the pathogen. If that tick then feeds on a domestic cat, infection typically leads to severe illness (cytauxzoonosis) and often death. Our staff is ready to recommend a flea and tick preventative/treatment to help protect your feline friend(s) from this terrible disease. Call our office for more information (870)423-6178.
