Wesleyan was rescued as a stray in Glastonbury. He is currently in a foster home in Berlin with other cats and small dogs. He is a very friendly, affectionate kitty who enjoys attention and likes to snuggle in laps. He is fine with other cats and dogs who are calm, respectful, and will give him space as needed. He is not comfortable with children and high-energy pets. He can get overstimulated while being pet, and needs an experienced cat owner.
Wesleyan suffered a traumatic injury in the past (possibly hit by a car), resulting in a fractured pelvis. Here are some notes from our veterinarian regarding his injury:
“Wesleyan was examined on 11/18/24. Radiographs were performed, and revealed an old bilateral injury to the hips. Wesleyan should be able to have a good quality of life with the injury, but it is recommended to keep him at a healthy weight and use dietary fiber to prevent constipation. There is a possibility of osteoarthritis in his future.”
Wesleyan has no problems walking, running, or using the litter box. He can also jump quite well, although not quite as high as most cats of his age, which might not be such a bad thing! He would understandably prefer not to have his back end touched too much. He eats canned food only.
Wesleyan is 1-2 years old, and has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. His adoption fee is $250.

Lyla was rescued as a stray from the University of New Haven, where she had been living underneath the coach’s trailer on the football field. She is currently in a foster home in Hartford. She is a very friendly, affectionate, chatty, playful kitty who loves to sit in laps! She also likes to cuddle up next to her favorite people in bed at night. She would prefer to be an only pet. She eats canned food only. Lyla is 1-2 years old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Her adoption fee is $250.

Tobias was rescued as a stray from a parking lot in New Haven. He is currently in a foster home in Southington with other cats and a dog, and gets along well with everyone. He is a very friendly, affectionate guy who loves to play and wrestle, and will need another cat to play with in his new home. He is fine with other cats who are welcoming and confident after the usual adjustment period. He would do best in a relatively calm environment without young children, and is not suitable for first-time cat owners. He eats canned food only. Tobias is two years old, and has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. His adoption fee is $250.

Calling all cat lovers! HB 6267-An Act Concerning Cat Declawing-is on the docket for a public hearing. Please PLEASE submit testimony ASAP (like now!) to SUPPORT this bill, which PROHIBITS declawing. Declawing is a cruel, inhumane procedure that is already illegal in our neighboring states of New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as many other countries around the world. It's time for Connecticut to join in passing legislation to support the humane, ethical treatment of animals.
You can submit written testimony here:
https://www.cga.ct.gov/aspx/CGATestimonySub/CGAtestimonysubmission.aspx?comm_code=env&emci=9b2ca850-6806-f011-90cd-0022482a9fb7&emdi=30e7535b-1907-f011-90cd-0022482a9fb7&ceid=35061301&fbclid=IwY2xjawJNlSBleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHRy8EHpJ_SmUsFWlRK2IHRkD3m2Al7D6ME8QNjNgUpjObRkhZi7zMVk0LQ_aem_JBsUXKp5Qq8vrDrz0Ug7bA
IMPORTANT INFO:
Hearing Date & Time: 3/24/2025 12:00 PM
Bill Number: HB06267 - AAC CAT DECLAWING
Please click the circle to SUPPORT this bill banning declawing.
Please include your full name and the town you live in, and your credentials, if any. Then write a short, personal message on why declawing is horrible. You can include facts, statistics, and any personal experiences you have had related to declawing. No need to write an essay-something simple is fine. In the end, it's a numbers game, so the MORE PEOPLE that submit testimony in SUPPORT, no matter how short, THE MORE LIKELY THIS BILL WILL PASS! LET'S DO THIS!

Zarai's owner couldn’t afford to take care of her. She is currently in a foster home in Berlin. She is an extremely friendly, affectionate, playful kitty who LOVES to be the center of attention! She is very curious and active, and will follow her humans everywhere they go and purr up a storm! She is chatty, and likes to have conversations about whatever happens to be going on. She is dramatic when meeting other pets, but can get along with them after an adjustment period. She might be okay with one or two other cats that are calm, confident, and will give her space. She would also be fine as an only pet. She eats canned food only. Zarai is 5-6 months old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Oliver was rescued as a stray by a kind neighbor in Berlin. He is currently in a foster home in Wethersfield with his buddy Dill and other cats. He is a friendly, affectionate guy who likes to be the center of attention, and is fine with cat-savvy kids. He is very active and likes to wrestle, and needs to have another cat to play with to keep him occupied, as he would be bored as an only cat. He would love to be adopted as a pair with his buddy Dill. He eats canned food only. Oliver is 1-2 years old, and has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
