Myrtle was abandoned by her former owners when they moved away. She is an extremely friendly, affectionate kitty who will follow anyone around to get affection. She tolerates other pets who will give her space and not try to interact with her, and would prefer a calm home without young children. She is 1-2 years old, and has been spayed, vaccinated for rabies & distemper, and tested negative for FeLV. Unfortunately, she has tested positive for FIV. Many FIV+ cats live long, healthy lives, and we hope that this will be the case for Myrtle. She currently appears to be healthy, and is not taking any medication. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or any animals other than cats. FIV cannot be transmitted to other cats through casual contact, such as sharing food & water bowls, litter boxes, mutual grooming, etc. When cats are neutered, FIV is typically only transmitted through deep bite wounds, and cats that are compatible typically do not bite each other hard enough to draw blood. If you have any questions about FIV, please send an email, and we will be happy to answer them. Her adoption fee is $200.

Opi was surrendered by an owner with too many cats and no means to care for them. He is a friendly guy who would like to live in a household with another cat who will welcome him. He can also be adopted with one of his friends from the same household (Dorito, Stubby Wubby, Chippy, and R2D2). Opi is 8 months old, and has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. His adoption fee is $250.

Seymour Sterling was rescued as a stray in Hartford by a kind man who pulled him out of a dog’s mouth. Seymour’s left eye was ruptured, which appeared to have been a pre-existing condition, possibly due to an infection or trauma, but may also have been exacerbated by the encounter with the dog. His left eye was removed soon after his arrival. The missing eye doesn’t seem to affect him much at all, and he doesn’t require any special care of any kind. He is an extremely friendly, active, playful kitten who LOVES attention! Seymour needs to have another active kitty to play with in his new home, as he would be bored without a feline playmate. He is 3 months old, and has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. His adoption fee is $250.

Lots of kitties found purrfect homes this weekend-Wahoo! Briar was adopted as an only pet, and will be the queen of her domain, just as she wishes to be! Margot has a new kitty brother, and we are hopeful that they will be best buddies in no time. Blurr has two super sweet canine siblings that he will be getting better acquainted with over the next few weeks. Cricket & Oliver have been adopted by their foster families. So many happy endings!
