Great Pyrs & Paws Rescue is a 501c3 organization with a network of volunteers across the United States. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted, displaced, and neglected Great Pyrenees along with other Livestock Guardian dogs that are abandoned in high kill shelters throughout Texas. By placing them in caring and nurturing foster homes we are able to successfully adopt them to loving homes th

roughout the Western United states. Our mission is to engage community members to promote better treatment of these dogs and reduce euthanasia numbers through adoptions, education, and other resources.

Molly Monday 💜🌸 Molly in Astoria OR 🩷is still looking for a loving home 🩷 This super friendly and welcoming 6 year old needs a new home. Molly’s family is expecting another little and with no fenced yard, or a way for her to get her energy out; her family feels shes a little too rambunctious for small children. Molly is great with kitties, and has lived with a senior Lab her whole life, but we feel she would do best in a home with older kiddos, kitties and as an only dog. At Great Pyrs and Paws Rescue, we see firsthand how many amazing dogs and puppies are constantly in need of a helping hand. The truth is, we love these gentle giants, but we absolutely cannot do this lifesaving work without you.
If you are a dog lover—and especially if you have a soft spot for Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGDs)—we would love to welcome you into the GPPR family.
Here is how you can join our mission and make a massive difference:
🏡 1. Become a Foster Hero (Urgent Need!)
We are actively looking for foster homes across Texas, Oregon, and Washington. Opening your home temporarily saves lives and gives these dogs the safe space they need to bloom.
👥 2. Lend a Hand (Volunteers Needed)
Not able to foster? No problem! We need extra hands for:
Social Media: Help us share their stories online.
Pop-Up Events: Meet and greets, public education on LGD ownership, and adoption advocacy.
Behind the Scenes: Conducting home checks and behavioral assessments.

Some of our amazing pups take a little longer to find their perfect match. We are always grateful for occasional donations to cover their food, vetting, and supplies.

Friday Fun with beautiful girl, Texana! Don't let the name fool you, she's a Pacific Northwesterner who enjoys time hanging around the house as well as exploring and patrolling her yard. This floofy girl turns two✌️ this month and still has some playful puppy energy, mixed with a mellow vibe most of the time.
Texana walks well on leash, but probably wouldn't do well with cats. She likes to be the queen👸 of her home, so she'd most likely do best as a solo dog or with a very chill male pup. She's been taught several commands🧠 and loves being by her person's side.

Now, for the 2nd half of our Sunday Sweeties 💜 We have Magnolias sister Scout 💜 - Also 1.5 years old, calm, gentle and loyal; Scout is wise already in her young life and always keep a watchful eye on her loved ones. Scout loves people; and only second to that, loves water and playing with her doggy friends. Especially if its raining. Im sure she would appreciate a home with a pool or lake to swim in. Scout is also in Texas currently, but can come up north to OR- WA on transport. A couple days ago we introduced our new girlies to rescue. This morning, we will be showcasing them seperately. First up, beautiful Magnolia 🩷 This pretty 1.5 year old girl is lovely, with a personality to match ! Magnolia LOVES people, and loves to soak up affection and cuddles. She is playful, silly and sweet. Magnolia 🌸has been raised around other animals, and does lovely with other dogs and kitties. She likes doing whatever you’re doing, and at the end of the day, likes to relax on a cozy dog bed. A Warm Wednesday Welcome to Callie! This adorable 11 month old Pyr/Anatolian mix is ready for her next adventure; a forever home🏡!
Callie is sweet, sassy, extremely smart, and very observant. She is settling into her foster home more each day, and appears to have strong working-dog tendencies. She's naturally curious, social, but is very much still a puppy🐶! Callie will need continued guidance, structure, and proper outlets for her energy and instincts. National Rescue Dog Day is a reminder that every dog deserves safety, kindness, and a family to call their own.

Sweet, happy 6-year-old 🌸🩷Molly is officially looking for her new forever home!

Molly’s loving family is preparing to welcome a second little human, and with all the exciting changes, they realized Molly’s big energy and playful spirit are just a bit too much for the tiny kiddos around her. Add in losing their fenced yard after a move, and Molly simply isn’t getting the space she needs to run, play, and thrive.
This beautiful Anatolian Pyrenees mix absolutely ADORES people and greets everyone like an old friend. She’s affectionate, social, and truly a giant puppy at heart living in a big girl body. 🐶🌸🩷

Molly currently lives with her senior Lab brother, but we feel she would shine brightest in an adult or older-teen-only home where she can soak up all the attention and love for herself. Molly prefers dining solo and likes her toys, treats, and bones to stay hers alone.

Her ideal home would include:
✨ A securely fenced yard
✨ Space to romp and explore
✨ A rural or quieter setting with minimal distractions
✨ Someone familiar with guardian breeds preferred
Molly gets VERY excited for walks, so she’ll need a little continued work on leash manners — but her joyful enthusiasm is hard not to love!
