Great River Rescue Great River Rescue is a companion animal shelter and low-cost spay/neuter program in Bemidji, MN.

Great River Rescue houses adoptable dogs and cats until a suitable forever home can be found. The shelter provides quality care the animals, spays and neuters all animals, and helps educate the public on pet care. The shelter is funded by community donations, and service fees.

Meet our dog and cat of the week, Tucker🐶 and Shadow🐱

Tucker is a 6 year old neutered male, likely a lab mix. He’s full of love, energy, and is a joy to be around! Tucker has gotten along well with other animals and kids, and is all around the perfect pup.

Shadow is a spayed female kitty who’s more than ready for a home! This sweet girl loves people, especially men, and full of affection and playfulness. She would likely do well in just about any household.
