🐾 WE’RE HIRING !!!🐾

Our salon is looking to add a dog bather to our team! We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, patient, caring, and genuinely enjoys working with dogs. ❤️

This position involves much more than simply bathing dogs. Duties to include:

🐶 Bathing, drying & prepping dogs for their grooming
🧹 General salon cleaning
🧺 Laundry
🐾 Helping keep dogs comfortable, safe & happy throughout their visit
🤝 Working as part of a team

Applicants should have:
✔️ Excellent time-management skills
✔️ Be able to work at a fast, steady pace
✔️ Have high standards and an eye for detail
✔️ Be patient and caring with animals
✔️ Be comfortable working with all breeds
✔️ Be reliable and hard working
✔️ Be comfortable with frequent bending, lifting and physical work

⭐️ Good time management is especially important because we work on a tight schedule and need everyone to keep things moving!!! Your natural working “pace” should be quick! This position requires “hustle”! 😊

🐕 Experience working with dogs is a plus, but the right attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important. Hours may be negotiable, our regular day starts at 7:30am and ends at 5pm. Monday-Friday’s only. A typical shift would be 8 hours. Pay rate depends on work history and experience.

BIG NEWS FOR THE DOG GROOMING INDUSTRY IN NORTHERN MN AND SURROUNDING STATES! 🐾✂️

We are SO excited to finally be able to share this! Northwest Technical College is launching a brand-new Professional Dog Grooming program right here in Bemidji! 🎉

This is something we have been working behind the scenes on for the past couple of years, and we are incredibly proud to have been involved in helping bring a professional dog grooming education program to our community. What started as conversations about the need for more qualified groomers has grown into an actual program that will train the next generation of professional groomers right here in Bemidji. ❤️

Students will receive comprehensive, research-based training in professional grooming, including coat and skin care, grooming techniques, breed-specific standards, and the skills needed to pursue ongoing professional certification!

This is a HUGE step forward for our industry to have access to in Northern Minnesota and surrounding states. Professional grooming is so much more than giving a dog a haircut—it takes knowledge, technical skill, safety awareness, and a deep understanding of canine health and behavior.

We would love to see this program grow and help bring more educated, skilled, and passionate professional groomers into our industry. If you or someone you know has ever dreamed of becoming a dog groomer, this could be an incredible opportunity!

Our salon will be closed Thursday, August 12th through Sunday, August 16th while most of our grooming team is in the Chicago area attending the All American Grooming Show for continuing education, seminars, and certification opportunities! ✂️📚

We do have one of our groomers staying behind who will be taking a limited number of special appointments previously booked this Friday, August 14th. So while the salon is otherwise closed, if you have an appointment with her, you’re still on! 😊 During this time, we will not have regular reception so most calls will likely go to voicemail and the door may be mostly locked unless you are expected for a drop off/pick up.

We will be back to our regular schedule after the weekend where Jess and Claudia will be working double time to get back to everyone! If you are unable to get through ( sometimes the voice mail fills up during time away like this.) Try us again next week. YOU ARE IMPORTANT TO US! Thank you for your understanding while our groomers take this opportunity to learn, grow, and bring even more knowledge and skills back to the salon! ❤️🐾 Have a wonderful weekend!

We need help finding homes for these two girls that seemed to be dumped out in the country near Pennington. We have notified local animal controls/the humane society. As well as local businesses near where they were found. They have been cooped up long enough and no one is claiming them. We have been advised now to go ahead and try to find them good homes. All I know is they are both female, the white one seems young ( if I had to guess I’d say 1-2 years old) the brindle is definitely in that awkward puppy stage maybe 6-8months? Found together but not sure if related. Both OBNOXIOUSLY sweet! 😂 they LOOOOVE to LOVE you and give unlimited hugs and kisses! They kennel up well (all day if needed) don’t make much noise here but they REALLY need exercise and love and affection. They are BORED! We have practiced with separating them for a bit. They definitely love each other, but they would be fine being separated. They are boisterous and need to relearn manners as they really like to jump on you! The brindle one seems to be OK with dogs of other sizes. The white one is very friendly and interested in other dogs however, she definitely wants to be the dominant dog in the household. She seems to have a bit of a prey drive with rabbits so I’m not sure if she would be small animal friendly (  though that might just be how she was surviving so it might just be rabbits she goes after…) So, if you are a pibble lover or know someone who is, come stop in for a visit and see if either or both are a fit for you! We just want them to go to a great home. They deserve to be loved and spoiled. 💕

Petopia is northern Minnesota’s premier pet grooming spa, offering compassionate, one-on-one care with a focus on each pet’s emotional and physical wellbeing. With modern spa equipment, stress-reducing techniques, and a calm environment, pets are treated with the highest level of care and attention.

Stephanie began her grooming journey in 2021 and has continued expanding her education through professional grooming programs, pet first aid certification, and advanced training in skin and coat wellness. Her mission is to provide grooming experiences that support the whole pet — mind, body, and coat.
