Dogs are creatures of relationships, just like people. If a stranger tells us to do something, that doesn't carry much weight, because you don't know them. But if someone we know asks us to do something, that is a different story, because they matter to us. It's the same with dogs. They WILL respond better to those that work with them most often.

Which is why, even though a trainer can teach the dog to do certain things, the owners have to practice it at home, because those things are what will help shape the relationship the dog has with them. It's not simply about teaching the dog to Sit or Lie Down or Come When Called, it's about using those things to create a certain type of relationship between the owner and the dog. 🐶❤️
