senior pets are some of my absolute favorite to care for. Not because they're easy (their meds and routines can be pretty intricate depending on their health) but because of how much experience is behind those eyes. They've all lived with so many stories to tell if I ly we could speak to them. They speak in their own ways to people who are willing to take the time to listen. This is Corabelle, a senior lady I've been sitting for a few years now. She is so sweet and patient but always up for a good trail walk ❤️

From now through Oct. 8, you can vote for one of 10 community-nominated bird finalists. The winning bird will be announced by Mayor Kim Lund on Friday, Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal.

This celebration is part of Bellingham Bird Week, hosted by the North Cascades Audubon Society and Audubon Washington from Oct. 5–11. Throughout the week, enjoy bird-themed children's Storytimes with the Bellingham Public Library, a drawing session and screening of "Lights Out Texas" at the Whatcom Museum, guided walks, trivia, and more.

Sometimes the best indicator that I'm doing high quality work isn't the praise from owners who are satisfied with my performance or the number of requests I get. Often it's the small ways in which the pets themselves let me know they appreciate me. Be it a really wagging tail or a special guest appearance from someone who regularly spends their visits under the bed. I'm proud of the that I've grown and will continue to grow.

This delightful gentleman and I are soaking up the last little bits of Summer as the leaves are starting to change. We'll miss the Summer sun, but I'm a fall girl at heart!
