Today we celebrated our first Fall Farm Funday!

The festivities included a hayride, riding relays, horse trivia, scarecrow making (be sure to wave to them as you drive by the farm), trick or treating through the barns and a special visits from Scooby Doo and Superman/ Wonder Woman!

Eagle Valley Equestrian Center, a premier training and lesson facility in Milesburg, PA, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to fill a part-time horse care position, starting immediately.

Key responsibilities include maintaining clean stalls, feeding horses, managing turnout, and performing general barn duties.

To be considered, applicants must be at least 16 years old, physically capable, possess reliable transportation, and be available to work late afternoons and weekends. We offer competitive compensation.

We ended camp by feeding our beloved horses cookies and giving them hugs.

The treat bags were made by Vanessa Lloyd and thankfully were high quality ingredients since horses AND humans sampled them! LOL

Day five of Horse Camp, our final day, included a demonstration by our Cowboy Mounted Shooters! Thank you Jenny & Pam for encouraging a new generation of riders!

We also had a morning ride, pizza party, decorated stalls, played volley ball and played in the rain!

Day four of horse camp included barn chores, a bouncy ball obstacle course, riding horses and the water slide, and the Horse Camp Olympics!

The Horse Camp Olympics includes activities like carrying hay bales, baling buckets of water, mixing grain and supplements, sweeping, scooping poo, etc. The games were timed and teams won based on best average time!

Today was Day Three of Horse Camp!

Today we talked about the science and importance of healthy legs for horses. During the conversation it was mentioned that "horses don't have recliners in their stalls to rest their feet and legs at night". The campers decided that didn't seem right and decided to create dream living rooms for each horse based on their personalities, using dry erase markers on their stalls.

For example Ali has a favorite rocker, loves HGTV & the Food Network while Dewey has a full sofa, 12 remotes and watches documentaries about war, Jake is a gamer, Leo orders too much Door Dash, Ivy takes too many Selfies, and Ernie has a mini fridge next to his big screen TV.

We may have created a generation of horse furniture designers!

We also rode horses, bouncy balls and the water slide and bathed horses!

"Today at Horse Camp we spent the day falling off of perfectly behaved horses!"

Well, sort of...we practiced emergency dismounts in hopes we'll never truly need them!

We also painted silhouette canvases, had a farm scavenger hunt, met the ferrier and Horse Trainer Chris, laid in the grass in the sun, played charades & volleyball and learned about clover fungus!

Time to rest up for day three. Tomorrow is bath day where the horses end the day smelling great and the campers...not so much.

These campers are full of energy and loving the beautiful weather!
